I have indents left from my previous implants. Would these be fixed with a lift? Does a lift always make you go down in size? I'm a 32c now. Wondering if i should expect to become a 32b post surgery.
Answer: Options to correct deformity after implant removal More details about your previous surgeries is needed in order to make a recommendation, but here are a few things that come to mind based on the photos: The indentations have the appearance of muscle adhesion to the remaining scar capsule. That is especially evident on the view with your arms raised. When you flex your pectoral muscle, do you see a pulling up where the indentations are? If so, then the muscles need to be re-attached (they are cut with the dual plane procedure when implants are placed under the muscle.) If not, then a lift will improve the shape along with fat grafting and scar release.

Answer: Lift The lift will make you somewhat smaller, but you do not have much excess skin, so probably not a cup size smaller. The lift should be able to help the dents. Later, after you have healed from the lift, you can add fat if you want more volume.

Answer: Indents after implant surgery Your implants were inserted through the areola unfortunately. That scar along with other issues is why implant surgery is no longer frequently performed with that approach. A technique called subcision can be used to release that scar and fat grafting that area will help fill in any volume deficiency. Regarding breast lift surgery reducing your size, breast lift surgery definitely "nips & tucks" something but it's usually just skin to improve position of your nipple/areola and not designed frequently to reduce you breast a whole cup size- that would be a breast reduction. An alternative to breast lift surgery is "scarless breast lift" from InMode; it's a radiofrequency based treatment that is done through puncture. The research behind it is newer but a rise of 1-5cm has been reported. It will not correct the contour deformities from the implant surgery like a breast lift possibly can. If you're near Chicago, give us a call and we can take a look. Best Wishes!!

Answer: Lift to Fix Indents Yours is one situation where an in-person exam is particularly important, as well as a full discussion of goals. If your main goal is to fix the indents, fat grafting alone (over 1-2 sessions) may be sufficient. If so the advantage is that you can avoid the additional scars of a lift.If a goal is to tighten the skin and lift the breasts, then the scars of a lift may be a good option. Seek several experienced opinions, and best of luck!Dr. Jim Romanelli

Answer: Bellesoma Lift to correct deformity The lift technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained, if not injured during your previous surgery. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
