Do I need a breast uplift? (Photos)

Hi, thanks for your question. Based on your photos, you would be suitable for breast implants alone to improve the overall volume of your breasts and improve upper pole fullness. You could always consider having a small uplift procedure at a later date if you were not satisfied without. This would minimise the risk profile, and scars on the breast.

Thank you for your question and congratulations on the weight loss.  I would recommend a breast augmentation with a breast lift for the best result.  This will allow your surgeon to lift the breast giving them a perkier look and by adding an implant will help with size and shape.  I would suggest seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to evaluate you and discuss your options.  Best of luck to you. 

Your nipples are located below your breast fold, so a lift is recommended. Without one, your implants would sit quite low on your chest and you wouldn’t have much volume in the upper portion of your breasts.

Hello, thank you for your question. It appear that you may benefit from a breast lift with implants. an augmentation will provide the volume you desire. A board certified plastic surgeon will be able to guide you to the correct size implant measurements and desires measurements of the chest wall and breast imprint width as well as knowledge of all breast implant sizes and profiles should make this process easy. Try on a profile bra with various saline and silicone cc sizers your PS recommends under a tailored blouse, tank top, bikini, workout clothes, and other garments you typically wear so that you have the best idea of whether the garments fit as desired with the implant selected. Schedule an email, Skype or in-person consultation for proper evaluation.

The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method.  This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.  Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.  Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.  Implants are not lifetime devices.  8% fail within the first year and 30% fail within six years.  Fat transfers are permanent and incorporated into the body.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

I recommend an in person evaluation by a plastic surgeon to be measured and discuss your goals.After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Mildly Sagging Breasts: If your breasts are mildly droopy, a saline or silicone gel implant placed behind the pectoral muscle might help create the illusion of perkiness. That’s because as the implant fills out the top of the breast, it also fills out the bottom, making it look as if the nipple has moved higher. It hasn’t. You can always get a lift later if you feel you are not perky enough when fully settled and healed.

Dear Chloe,  Please put an index card in your breast fold. If your nipple is at the edge of the card or below, then you would be a candidate for a lift, either a vertical or anchor or areolar incision. If your nipple is above the edge, you could be a candidate for an internal lift called the dual plane. The video below explains the dual plane internal lift.  I also attached an article from a peer-reviewed journal to give you an even better idea.  I believe the dual plane and implants alone will do it for you, and that you will not need a lift. Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Based on your photographs, the best shape and contour could be achieved with an implant and a breast lift. Your nipple sits below the inframammary fold and without a lift in addition to the implant, this will not have a natural shape.  A breast lift with an implant can result in a very nice shape if good technique is used.  The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.   Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Congratulations on your weight loss! It is difficult to say based on your photos whether your would benefit from implants alone. If you truly have grade 1-2 ptosis, a lift would be needed. Implants would provide volume but your breasts would likely still appear to sag. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to review your best options in person. I hope this helps. Best of luck!

determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammaryline we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.
