I had Juviderm 0.9ml placed this morning in my lips. by the time the procedure was finished and I looked in the mirror I thought it looked awful! I can't tell if it's swelling or if the filler was injected poorly. I wanted more volume to my red lip but it seems to be all in the borders of my lips making me look like a duck! I'm freaking out and feel that I made a terrible mistake. Any advice on whether you think this is swelling or over injection in the border?
Answer: Swelling From Lip Filler Thank you for your photos. I think your upper lip is slightly overfilled and lower is under filed but due to swelling it is very difficult and almost impossible to know for sure. When the swelling goes down in 5-7 days , please repost your photos to have a clear picture of the final look and proportions.

Answer: Swelling after Juvederm--Lip Augmentation with Fillers (Restylane, Juvederm) or Lip Implant or Fat Yes, this is most likely swelling, which will resolve in 1-2 weeks. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Juvederm in lips. Bad filler and too much in borders or swelling? Will it go down less than looked immediately after? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry that your current results are causing you concern. Though we are not aware of the injection pattern used, swelling after filler placement into the lips is common due to the thin nature of the tissues. This swelling, and your results, will steadily improve over the next 10-14 days. It often takes up to 2 weeks for fillers to soften and the tissues to appear more natural. In the meantime try reducing the swelling by using cold compresses to your lips and elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back. You may want to also consider using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements. Hang in there!

Answer: Swelling after Lip Injections Thank you for your question. At one day post procedure there is still swelling present in your lips. It takes up to 2 weeks for swelling to resolve and to see your final results. You can ice the treated area to help resolve some swelling. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have the filler dissolved with an enzyme known as hyaluronidase. Best of Luck!

Answer: Juvederm in lips. Bad filler and too much in borders or swelling? Will it go down less than looked immediately after? Thanks for your question and thanks for your photos as well. As has been noted by the others, what seems to be going on at this point is normal swelling – which can last 1-2 weeks in most people who have their lips injected with HA fillers. Most of the time you will be happy with the results if this has been done by a skilled injector. If this is not the case, then one can have hyaluronidase injected into the areas to dissolve the product. Make sure you are seeing an expert injector and you should be fine
