Is it normal to have a dense lump in your lip 3 weeks after having Juvederm Ultra lip injections done? (photos)

An injection of hylauronidase will be safe to do at this point in ONLY  experienced and highly trained hands.  It can dissolve the lump safely for you in most cases if it is done CORRECTLY .
Please do not wait to the point when the lump would need to be cut out which is extremely rare but could happen

Fillers are Hydrophilic (absorbs water) so my preference is to massage the product and make sure there are no lumps before the patient leaves. Sometimes even after smoothing the filler, there's always a chance the filler can expand in certain areas. If you are finding lumps go back to your provider and they can work out the lumps by massaging your lips and if that doesn't work, then a reversal is also possible.

I recommend following up with your injector. If necessary, this can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. It may take a series of treatments. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

After three weeks the swelling will be resolved.  You may try massaging the area to see if it will improve.  If it does not you have the option of having hyaluronidase injected to dissolve the Juvederm.

Often times you will have small lumps in the lips following lip filler that dissolve over time, however they should never be visible. Visible lumps will require massage or in some cases, hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler. I do not recommend doing anything to the lumps on your own - return to your injector and let them discuss the options with you.

Anytime a filler is placed into the body a lump can occur.  Likely after 3 weeks this is a lump from filler and not swelling or a bruise.  If it is not bothersome or noticeable it can be left to breakdown over time. Alternatively it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.  Please follow up with your treating physician to discuss your options.

This can occur but isn't normal. You can consider hyaluronidase for this but risk the dissolving of filler you want to keep. At 3 weeks, it won't get better on its own.

Thank you for sharing your photos. Juvederm injections in the lips can create considerably swelling for the first 72 hours. It is controlled with cold compresses. Three weeks after the treatment all the swelling is resolved. Probably a little amount of Juvederm was injected too superficial. It is important to get evaluated by your doctor to decide if hyaluronidase can solve your problem. I hope this help.LM
