Typical swelling 2 weeks after Juvederm Lip Injections using the cannula technic? (Photos)

Question

One side of my lip still looks swollen. Is this Juvederm or does it look swollen? It has been 10 days since I have my procedure. I have had my lips done a few times, but this is the first time with this technic. Before I go back to my Dr., just want to get your opinion on whether they still look swollen or they are over done? Thanks!

Your lips were not necessarily overfilled, it just asymmetry and dis balance. Please go back to see your injector but for now you can start gentle massage of the lips.It can be easily fixed.

Brusing after lip fillers is very common , but it should have subsided , go follow up with your doctor , they may recommend injecting more filler to even it out, or removing some depending on the path you feel comfortable with, I would say to start gently massaging the filler as well

Yes, this can still be swelling, which can last up to 2 weeks after your procedure. If you're unhappy with your final result, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Hello Tlewis97,At two weeks most of the swelling is gone, so what you see is what you get.  I'd give it another few days since today is day 11 per your note above, but if you still aren't happy at the two week mark, follow up with your injector.  The cannula technique would not lead to more swelling so likely what you are seeing is the product.  I hope this helps and good luck.

This looks to me like the lips were overfilled. It has  nothing to do with the technique (cannulas) used. Just too much was placed in the lips, particularly in the upper lip. The ratio should be 1:1.61, upper to lower lip height. I would inject with hyaluronidase and start over.
