I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Greenberg! I've been seeing him for a yr now and he's truly helped me re-gain back my confidence. I made the mistake of going to someone new for a cosmetic treatment due to driving proximity and convienience -NEVER again! He corrected my "botched" cosmetic job and had me looking back to myself again (only better). He is very talented and doctors of this caliber are hard to find these days. I will never trust my face with anyone else and would highly recommend him. Thank you Dr. Greenberg!!
If you are reading reviews to decide whether or not to take Accutane, PLEASE keep reading! I am a 23 female and I have had acne since I was 13. Started out with just puberty little pimples, as I got older they became huge and sore and red; it was horrible. I could not even leave my house without makeup. Told myself I finally have to do something permanent. I have tried ProActiv, every single antibiotic, every single topical cream, been to 3 different dermatologists and I finally knew it was being caused by something inside me, not on the outside. If you have giant cystic acne bumps on your face and have the mindset that you want to finally end the misery of acne, please keep reading! I was so scared to start Accutane after reading some reviews, but my cycle was not too bad! The beginning is the worst, but please trust me just keep pushing. Your body is a machine and it cannot work overnight. My side effects were dry skin, SUPER chapped lips, joint pain (mostly in my hands), bad night vision, and horrible fatigue. I know that sounds like absolute hell, but just think of the outcome. My doctor had this chapstick that has medicine in it for the chapped lips (BUY IT). I hardly drank water, which is horrible because Accutane is basically just a ton of vitamin A which dries up your sebaceous oil glands in your body. So buy the chapstick, and drink a TON of water. The joint pain was pretty bad, but only was in my hands and only came once in a while. Again, probably because I was dehydrated. Night vision, just don't drive at night if you feel it is a problem. The fatigue was honestly horrible. I am not going to sugar coat it, but also that is just what happened to me. As all these symptoms will be different for everyone, I just want to give a heads up on what you can do to avoid them or how to deal with them for 6 months. The whole controversy of the suicide attempts and depression, in my opinion, is honestly because you do not see results in a night. When you have acne you are so insecure and are desperate for a clear face, but it does take a while to kick in and start doing its job. You get tired and 6 months is a very long time, but please please go into with a good mindset! If you are having trouble or need someone, reach out and get help! It is so worth it! So now you know the hard stuff, here is the easy part. I googled doctor's in my area that prescribe Accutane. Made an appointment and he saw me right away. Told him my story how I have tried everything under the sun, he evaluated my cystic acne and prescribed me 30mg pills. It is based off of your weight. Every month, for females, you take a blood pregnancy test. DO NOT GET PREGGO! Also, males and females get a iPledge account. It's an easy website where you log in and take little quizzes on how to not get pregnant, not donate blood while you are on Accutane, and how you go about the cycle. So I took the first pregnancy test, went right to my doctor's office after, he wrote a prescription, dropped it off at Jewel, picked it up and started it the next day. You take one in the morning and one at night. I just kept doing that for 6 months and I have not had a pimple in probably 7/8 weeks! The pills themselves were $30 a month and I forgot how much the blood work was, but hoping insurance covered it haha. Obviously there is redness and healing your skin has to do itself after, but I do not even care right now. It is about how I feel!. I feel so light in my face! I can wait for my body to clear up the redness itself (as my doctor told me it would). My skin is so flat and clear and feels so good not to pick and pop and squeeze every morning. Looking at the before pictures and after feeling my face I cried tears of absolute happiness. I read that vitamin C lotion helps with the tone of your skin, so I am now trying that just to help a little. But, I am 110% happy with my results!!!! My biggest suggestions to remember if you are going to go on this AMAZING journey is 1. DRINK WATER LIKE ITS YOUR JOB!!!!!!! 2. Please don't give up. Just don't do it. Do not have negative thoughts and go in it 100%, if that is what you want. 3. Enjoy the hell out of your baby soft skin afterwards. *100% my own opinion, my own journey, my own suggestions. I am not a doctor, not forcing anything on anyone, just wanted to show that it can work!!!! :)* - They also tell you not to drink alcohol, because vitamin A gets metabolized by your liver, but its not like CRAZY serious strict, well rather I didn't follow it strictly and I am perfectly fine. They take a blood test to see if your liver function is good and cholesterol is normal, then once that comes back great you are set to go. - Also, cannot believe I showed my face, but I wanted to show you guys I didn't just google images on the internet.
I had a small cyst on my eye lid right below my eyebrow. Every time I wore makeup, the makeup would actually emphasize it. It was especially obvious in pictures. I am getting married in June and didn't want this to pop out in every picture. Dr. Greenberg was kind and had great bed side manner, which is extremely important to me. He also originally quoted me $300 but the day of charged me $100, which was amazing! I will definitely be going back for the other 2 I need removed (which are much smaller).
After a few major life events (wedding, new job, baby, house) The stress and my poor lifestyle had really taken a tole on my body. I've always been an athlete/fit but recently I've lost a lot of weight and my face was looking gauntly, deflated and just tired. I went to a few top doctors on "RS" right before my wedding and always felt like my appointments were rushed. A top doctor even suggested juvederm Under my eyes- huge mistake! I also trusted a PA to put juvaderm in my nasolabial folds- I looked like a chipmunk and had to get it dissolved. You can tell when someone truly cares about their patients and when they are just playing up your insecurities to make more $$. I've realized that it's all about finding the right Doctor- you are entrusting someone to inject filler into your face! This is a cosmetic PROCEDURE, why trust just anyone? I am shocked that some of these doctors are ranked so highly from my experiences. You'd think I'd give up after all my disappointments...but then I gave it one last shot and found Dr. Greenberg. I am SO thankful I did!! He is truly a skilled artist and has an eye for facial asymmetry. I told him about my laugh lines and how they bothered me; He gave me a few different suggestions and was honest but genuine. He has the "less is more" approach and will be realistic- he did not want me to look fake. Today he suggested voluma in my chin and split one in my cheeks- my lines immediately softened. Who knew that a little voluma would make such a dramatic difference?! I feel like my old self but even better and I couldn't be happier with Dr Greenberg! He is very trustworthy and professional; He is one of the rare doctors that actually cares about his patients. I'm thrilled and will never go to anyone else!
Wanted to get a mole removal done for quite some time but was very nervous of something going wrong. Did some research & decided to just do it. Best doctor I've EVER encountered. Made me feel so comfortable, has a very nice sense of humor and you can truly tell he is a down to earth person. Procedure was done very quick, professional & pain free. Would recommend him 100%
I want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Greenberg for treating my acne a couple years back. Working in the fashion/entertainment industry can really put a lot on your mind, especially when acne flare ups pop up. With Dr. Greenberg's help, I am now comfortable with the fact that I do not have any unexpected flare ups. My skin has never looked this good. Thanks.
A mole appeared which at first I thought it was a blackhead, I went for a facial I was told it was a mole. Due to so many stories of skin cancer I decided to see Dr. Greenberg, of which he advised to remove it. I went for the procedure I couldn't believe it what a great job he did, you cant see a scar whatsoever . I am very happy!
I am a patient of Dr. Michael Greenberg whose office is in Elk Grove Village, Il. Over the years I had accumulated many facial age spots (over 70) which made me increasingly self conscience. In just one relatively brief appointment Dr. Greenburg successfully treated them. After a short time of healing the facial marks were not only absent but there was no evidence that I had been treated. Thank you Dr. Greenberg… you are a dermatological Rembrandt!
My motivation to see Dr. Greenberg at this point in my life is pertinent to my health. I know I will get an open and honest conversation with a spot on diagnosis. Dr. Greenberg will spend as much time with his patients as necessary to make them comfortable and make sure they understand the good and bad of the situation.
I did not like my lips -- have gotten thinner as I have gotten older. I was a little scared to get fillers because I did not want fishlips. Dr. Greenberg reassured me that I would look very natural and he was so right. After a few days of swelling and him massaging out a few lumps, they are perfect. I am so happy I did this and that I went to him for it. He is very kind and compassionate.
I'll answer this from personal experience, as I've had injections myself. I did not notice much swelling, but I had a small bruise that went away quickly. I was somewhat sore to the touch for only two days or so. I find the same experience in most of my patients. I think the response is individual and also the result of injection techniques.
I love using Voluma because of the great results, and in my experience, minimal swelling and bruising. How long it lasts is a sum of many factors. I find that individuals "burn it" at various speeds, but for most of my patients, a year and a half to two is the usual time.
I would return to my doctor and have them check the area. If you only feel discomfort with pressure, it's probably okay. Some trauma takes that long or longer to heal.
Aloe is great stuff and perfect for a sunburn. That's why every hotel in Aruba grows it -- so you can just pick a leaf and use it. I do not believe it has any lightening qualities. I suggest you see a dermatologist and have your mole evaluated. If you don't like it, there are ways to remove it with minimal scarring.
It's way too early to judge the results you are going to get from your filler. There is always swelling and sometimes bruising in lip fillers. I suggest that you wait about a week or so and then re-evaluate. And don't look in the mirror every ten minutes! Healing takes its time even in the days of instant everything.
