The amount of filler in one syringe of Juvederm is equivalent to 1/5 of a teaspoon (5 syringes = 1 teaspoon!). Lip augmentation can be affected by not only the volume injected but also the placement of the product. It can take up to 2 weeks to see your final results from lip injections to allow any swelling or bruising to dissipate. Follow up with your injector at 2 weeks for an evaluation and to discuss your current results, the look you desire to achieve and realistic expectations. You can then determine if more filler is needed to enhance your lips to the desired look.
It takes up to 2 weeks for final results. Additional filler may be needed to get your desired results. I recommend following up with your injector. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear tinavides113088,I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns. You can always add more filler in order to achieve the desired look.I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections. Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
It takes 1-2 weeks for final results, which can be gradual. I would wait a full 2 weeks before assessing results. Additional filler may be needed to get the results you want. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. Typically, 1 syringe of Juvederm is enough to see a significant difference in the lips. Depending on your desired result, you can add more filler to your lips to see an increase in volume. I recommend having a follow up with your injector to discuss your concerns. Best of Luck!
In most patients, 1 cc of Juvederm should be enough to show a visible change. The degree of enlargement depends on who full the lips look pre-injection. I'm not sure what the recommendation for Botox is based on, as that is not a typical use case for Botox. The more Juvederm you have put in, the larger the lips will be, so it is possible you are someone who needs more than 1cc to get the result you seek, but injection technique is also quite variable so you should be sure to have these kinds of injections done by very experienced and properly trained doctors, usually board-certified plastic surgeons, dermatologists or ENT facial plastic surgeons.
If you received one 1ml syringe of Juvederm in your lips, you should see a significant difference in the lip size. I would recommend that you see a plastic surgeon like myself or someone who's experienced with lip augmentation. good luck from New York City
One syringe, particularly in a young person with naturally full lips, is all that is needed for significant enhancement. It all depends on where the filler is injected. Volume per se is a secondary issue; what matters is the lip reversion while maintaining the curvature and proportion of your own lips. The natural lips are your own lips, whether enhanced or not. They fit only your own face. Conversely, your own lips would not look natural on someone else's face. Stay natural!Good luck!
The amount of filler needed will depend on your anatomy and treatment goals. The wonderful thing about fillers is that you can go slowly and build up to the look you desire. I recommend waiting two weeks from the first injection before having a second so that you can judge based on your final results.
One syringe is often not enough to attain the look you seek. I do agree with going slow rather than fast and heavy which means taking it out with hyaluronidase. My Best to you and thanks for the question. Dr Commons
