It’s been 48 hours since I got 3/4 of a syringe of a Juvederm in my lips. (So I didn’t get the full syringe, only 75% of it). My lips look massive, especially my upper lip and It’s way bigger on one side too. When I smile I look extreamly fake. I’m so upset. I never intended to have big fake lips. Did I get too much filler? Should I get it dissolved? I’m getting married soon and am devastated. Please help ;(

Answer: Swelling after Juvederm Dear morgrosejones,Juvederm has significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks. Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve. Dissolving is unpredictable as well.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: T is common to have some swelling after lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid fillers which can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. Thank you for your question. It is common to have some swelling after lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid fillers which can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. You can help reduce swelling by applying ice to the treated area(s). As HA fillers are not permanent you can have them dissolved with hyaluronidase if unhappy with the results. If you have any other concerns please follow up with your injector. Best of Luck!
