You have swelling, which can be typical after lip filler. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Dear Alliecat4013:This degree of swelling can happen after lip fillers, but IMHO is not inevitable. You can have smaller volumes over more than one visit, or have fillers such as Belotero or Restylane Defyne that should not swell much at all.I don’t believe patients should have to hide for two weeks after this procedure to get good results.All the best,   Dr. Clark

Swelling can be common after treatment with filler (especially lip filler).  It is a normal experience for most patients and it can take 2 weeks to see the final results. I would however advise that if you are in pain as suggested or severe discomfort to contact your practitioner.

Thank you for your question. No, your lips are not overfilled. What you are experiencing is swelling which is common after lip augmentation and can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. You can apply cold compresses to the treated area to help reduce swelling. If you have any other concerns please follow up with your injector. Best of Luck!

Be patient.  It is very common for the lips to swell significantly for 3-5 days after injection, and the swelling may last for a week or longer.  Try ice packs intermittently and keeping your head elevated while sleeping for a few days.  It's too early to assess your final result.  If you are unhappy after 2-3 weeks, the product can always be dissolved if needed.  It most likely will not be needed.  Be sure to follow up with your injector.  In general, I recommend seeing an experienced board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist for injections. Although it may cost more, the benefits of safety, training, and experience is worth the money.  Best of luck.  

It's still to early to tell the final results from your filler injections in the lips. Swelling post-injection can persist for up to two weeks. Additionally, Juvederm Ultra is a very hydrophillic (water-loving) filler. This means that the swelling with this product may be a little more intense than with some other hyaluronic acid fillers. If after two weeks you are still unhappy with the results, I would suggest returning to your provider to discuss your options. 

Lip fillers take two weeks to assess the full results of the injections.  I would definitely wait two weeks to assess the results.  If after two weeks you still think that they are too large I would return to your treating physician for examination and dissolve some of the filler.  Best, Dr. Green

You need to be patient as you just had your lips done. The amount of swelling is different with each patient as well as with each Doctors Treatment. Give yourself at least another week or so. Good luck from New York City

Swelling is common after lip injections and can persist up to two weeks.  Since it has only been three days since your treatment it is difficult to tell what is swelling and what is filler.  I recommend waiting the full two weeks to see your final results.  If you are still unhappy with the appearance you can return to your injector to have the product dissolved with hyaluronidase.
