So I’ve been insecure about my hairline/forehead FOREVER. It would be a huge lift off my shoulders if I get a transplant. I’m 19 and don’t know where to start. Here are some pics below. What do you think? It’s a lot worse in person and my sides are very think and I’d like to have thicker hair in front. Let me know what you think
Answer: Hairline lowering vs. transplant Based on your photos, you appear to have similar features to others who undergo these procedures. Of course an in person consultation is best. Most of my patients would choose the hairline lowering and later undergo a transplant just to reshape everything to give you a more rounded and feminine hairline.

Answer: Hairline Lowering I see many patients are self-conscious about a high hairline and or thinning hair. Lowering the hairline can be performed in a one-stage procedure or a multi-stage procedure depending on the desired result. In a one-stage forehead reduction surgical procedure, a carefully placed and camouflaged incision is made along the hairline and used to advance the hair bearing scalp and shorten the forehead in one surgical procedure. This is the most common method that patients choose, as it is quicker and only requires one procedure. Another option for hairline lowering is hair transplant, which can be performed to lower the hairline. Hairline lowering with hair transplant does not require any linear incisions along the hairline, but does not usually attain the same density as a hairline advancement procedure with only one hair transplant session. Most patients will need at least two transplant sessions for the best results. In some cases, patients will choose to combine the two techniques: they will have the one-stage hairline advancement procedure to move the hairline down a few centimeters, and then come back 6-12 months later to have a few hair transplant grafts placed just in front of, around, and in the scar in order to camouflage it even more. This entirely depends on patient preference, their particular anatomy, and how well they heal after surgery. All the best,

Answer: Hairline lowering There are definitely two solutions to your concerns. You can have either a pre hairline forehead incision to lower the hairline or hair transplant procedure. At 19 years old I might suggest starting with hair transplant procedures because in order to lower the hairline, even with release of the scalp, to get the best result you would need to elevate your brow. I suspect that your brow does not need a great deal of elevation and you might end up with a surprised appearance following forehead lowering.
