I am 8 days post op. I had a wonderful experience. Almost no pain. I feel very grateful for Dr. Epstein and his team. I won’t go into details but I am genuinely grateful and happy for my new look. I will try to post more photos.

In the close-up photos you will see a second line on my forehead closer to my nose. That line is from me wearing a scarf as an African-American person. I have to wear a scarf to protect my hair. I’m very happy with the results so far I’m only 15 days postop and it takes time for the body to heal so I’m trying to be patient although I want my scar to go away more. It just takes time.

this is my one month postop and when I say everything looks better it truly looks better still healing but happy so far. I know it’s gonna be a smooth recovery. Some tips I would say is immediately start using scar tape or silicone tape. Some people call it.

So I am 3 months post op. I received a Kenalog shot (Steroid injection for keloids) and have some HYPOpigmentation (makes skin light) not hyperpigmentation ( makes skin dark).

I am NOT discouraged I came up with a plan and we try to keep you all updated.

Also ALOT of hair shedding but it’s winter and very much cold where I work and live so I wear a hat 24/7 even at work. I am not worried about the loss of hair.

Hypopigmentation has me down 3/4months post op. I am still using silicone tape… started vitamin e oil. Tried latisse no results kind of frustrating last results are camouflage tattoo or FUE hair transplant

I have been meticulously caring for my scar for 4 months and I think these are my final thoughts. Firstly, I love my results even with a scar. I had a huge forehead. I do wish Dr. E was a bit more transparent about the hypopigmentation… he made it seem like it was a rare occurrence but it’s not and that is fine. I just prefer transparency. I will be getting a hair transplant so please be prepared for that cost. I am blessed that I can afford it. I would say if your a person of color plan for a potential scar.

Take away I needed bone shaving so for me I had to have a lowering surgery if you have a high forehead no bone shave just get a hair transplant from the beginning.

If you have good US hair transplants surgery for Afro hair please comment.

I am still getting a hair transplant to cover up. My white scar is not very noticeable, but it’s noticeable to me. Really hoping to find a good transplant doctor. I think I have found one. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

My experience with Dr. Epstein was top notch from start to finish. I saw him for eyebrow restoration, and I couldn't be more pleased. I'm a provider myself and not only was Dr. Epstein professional, but he was incredibly personable with an excellent bedside manner. I felt like I was conversing with an old friend. Over a year later, my results are amazing. I would recommend him to anyone considering hair restoration.

I went to Dr. Epstein to have a prior hair transplant excised and a low hairline raised. He also implanted the hairs that were excised back into my donor area as to not waste them and to fix some over harvested issues I had. I just want to say the entire experience was amazing and so were the results. I am currently only 10 days post op and my scar is barely noticeable. It appears as if there are hairs already growing through the scar, I’m not even sure how that’s possible this soon after. At the same time, Dr. Epstein also did a procedure to reduce the size of my left temple muscle because it was very prominent. Overall, I rate the experience a 10/10 and I would recommend anyone considering a hairline lowering procedure to definitely go to Dr. Epstein.

After having an unsuccessful transplant in Turkey I had ended up spending tons of time and Monday on microblading, products and potions to get eyebrows back as lol the grafts but a few that grew straightforward, fell out and did not return.
I had seen Dr. Epstein's reviews prior to that initial procedure but at the time I thought "ow hard can it be, they do hair transplants all the time in Turkey!" And the prices as 90% less than prices in the US. Well, sometimes you get what you pay for and after that experience my attitude has complete May changed. If something is important to you, find the best person in that field and go there.

So far my swelling is worse around the eyes than yesterday but I haven't had any pain, just numbness around the donor area which is a strange feeling. I'm expecting the bruising to come in soon but so far I'm not THAT scary looking.
I travelled across the continent for both my consult and surgery on different dates. Again, I'll never make the mistake of saving a few dollars and expecting spectacular results. The staff was very responsive via email, if you're coming in for a consult and you run cold, bring a sweater.. I was frozen. The consult was short but thorough and they were confident that my situation could be improved so I was hopeful.
The day before surgery they contacted me with a time to arrive and went over some paperwork, medications, shape and concerns.
The staff was friendly and professional.
Dr. Epstein's marks the donor and makes the incisions for graft placement and his team of technician removes the donor hairs and places into the incisions under his indirect supervision. He will come in the operating room several times to review and make recommendations to his team and adjustments.
We breakers for lunch which was complimentary. I didn't think I would be hungry but I had no problem eating and opted for a smoothie bowl as I have to refrain from exercise over the next 6 days.
They sent me back to my hotel with pain killers, a pill to help with sleep and antibiotics. I haven't needed the painkillers at all.
I'll be reviewing my experience on YouTube as well as where I stayed. What I brought with me etc.

If I can finish off by saying...
Lessons I've learned:
- don't follow trends that can't easily be unreversed. Ie. early 2000s brow trends and microblading
- most of the time you get what you pay for, do your research. Read studies that have no conflicts and understand the limitations of the procedure.
- be clear about your most important expectation and bring photos that resemble your face shape/ ethnicity.
- trust your doctor, most want the best results for you just as you want for yourself. You're living proof of their competency and skill. Poor outcome will reduce the number of patients that will visit them in the future.

My iPhone doesn’t recognize my face today lol. It’s a sign swelling has made my face slightly more unrecognizable - even my eyelids have eyelids! Fingers crossed it doesn’t get much worse than this but I have a good 13 hours of travel and connecting flights ahead of me so let’s see how that affects the healing process. Wish me luck!

Ps. I’m not wearing makeup in any of my current review photos. I’m closing in on my 40s and I’m grateful for my skin and I don’t feel the need to cover it up.

The back of my head feels very tight due to the healing. I’ve washed my hair once so far but I figured I would hold out to wash again on Day 6 because I think the natural oils could help with keeping the scalp from feeling to dry and irritated.

Still a lot of bruising around the eyes, I bruise quite badly to begin with so it’s not too shocking. The graft location is very dry though so I’ve been worried that the skin will flake and the grafts will leave with it. I contacted Dr. Epstein’s team and they said I can wash my face and start using moisturizer on them tomorrow to dislodge the scabs.

I’m slow to heal but I knew this going into the surgery. The expectation is you should be looking normal with slight bruising around Day 5 but I’m still pretty bruised and day 7 and up until I received an email from Dr. Epstein this morning I was not going to work away the crusts from the brows. After I received an email stating that I can start trying to wash them away I gently patted them with water and cleaner, rinsed and applied moisturizer to soften the dead skin making it easier to remove.

I read on google that there are two stages prior to the final outcome:
1. Heartbreak
2. Ugly duckling
I’m 2.5 weeks post op and I think I’m somewhere between. The hairs are falling and the ones left are uncontrollable resulting in a patchy look. I’m getting married in a few days so I’m hoping by then the situation is at least manageable for the makeup artist.

Trust the process, train your brow hairs and trim them regularly. I’m finally at a place where I’m ok with my eyebrows.. yes, I wish they were actual brow hairs but I’m so much happier than I was prior. There are still some gaps that I’d really like to be filled but due to my lack of donor hair I do not think it would be wise for me to get another transplant. I did write to Dr. Epstein’s office this week and did not receive a response back yet so we’ll see what they recommend. I’ve been using moustache wax before bed to train the brows overnight and I actually trim the brows when they have wax on them so I can easily see which are the long, out of place hairs.
After 6 months I’ve changed my review to worth it!
Best of luck to all of your keep your brows hydrated, do not pluck them, use scissor and derma planning razor to shape them!

For years I've been thinking of getting a hair transplant done and was very sceptical when seeing people's "results" and bad stories online and on youtube. An old friend of mine was struggling with hair loss from a young age and was losing his hair badly and after a few years of not seeing him, I ran into him at the gym and all his hair was back. He recommended Dr. Epstein and I didn't hesitate to make contact. I had my online consultation with Dr. Epstien and right away I made an appointment after having a good feeling about Dr. Epstien. I travelled to the US a few months later to have the procedure done and from the onset Dr. Epstien's team made me feel very comfortable as they could sense that I was a bit scared.

The procedure took about 8 hours and I took a break for lunch. During the procedure, Dr. and his technicians were very professional and easy going and I was very relaxed the entire time. I had some minor swelling and a little discomfort and they gave some meds which helped. The following morning I went for a check up and everything went well with the procedure.

When I got home I wore a cap until the swelling went away which was a few days. After day ten I stopped wearing the cap and pushed my hair forward to cover the 1850 grafts during the recovery period - - I even buzzed cut the back of my head (the donor area) and there was no sign of me getting a hair transplant at all.

Fast forward and it's five months since the procedure and I am now able to wear my hair the way I did many years ago and there is no sign of me ever getting a transplant -- I feel 10 years younger.

I use Rogain on the transplanted area twice per day and 0.25mg of Finasteride once per day with no side effects. My hair is no longer falling.

I have attached some progress photos here and plan on doing so three month from today because my hair is still getting thicker everyday.

I highly recommend Dr. Epstein!

Dr. Epstein is exceptional at beard transplantation. I had a laser procedure performed on my face in January 2020, and the esthetician incorrectly used the wrong laser over my beard area, leading to hair loss 10 days later. I thought the hair loss would be permanent and would have to shave twice a day, since it looked like I had alopecia areata, but found Dr. Epstein online and made an appointment. From the initial telehealth consultation to the end of the procedure, Dr. Epstein and his staff were wonderful. It is critically important that the hairs are properly positioned to give a natural look, and Dr. Epstein has perfected the technique. I'm now nearly a year out from my surgery date, and my beard looks very natural and full. His entire staff is great, and since I live out of state, any question I had in the post-op period was answered very promptly. If you are considering a beard transplant, I would highly recommend Dr. Epstein.

First, I would like to recommend to anyone about to get this surgery to purchase a memory foam airplane pillow. Second, I sprayed Colloidal Silver on my incision every day, 3x a day. I also applied a little tea tree oil once a day —every other day— for the first 5 days on my incision- especially in one area where a keloid was forming. I am beyond happy with how my hairline looks. (I’m 8 days post op.) you can barely see the incision- which was one of my and my mothers greatest concerns. Also, the Keloid that was forming is almost completely flat. ( I might put a little more tea tree oil on it.) Now that I have the stitches out I plan on applying Aloe Vera on the incision every night and yes, I will continue to spray Colloidal Silver. I highly recommend Dr Epstein for this particular procedure. Make sure you know exactly what you want- don’t get a forehead that doesn’t fit your face! Ie, too low or too high.
