I have had insecurities about how long my face is since I was eleven. I frequently participate in musicals, and would like to do it professionally, but I feel like my looks will get in the way of my success. One of my main concerns is throwing off my facial balance. I’m afraid if I get a forehead reduction, my chin will end up looking huge! I’ve also considered injections to increase facial symmetry along with the reduction. Thank you very much for your time !
Answer: Forehead reduction for a long face Forehead reduction surgery is a good option for reducing the forehead size in a patient with a longer face and a large forehead, as long as proper facial proportions are maintained. I would not recommend having any surgery performed in order to improve any personal or professional life situations. I encourage my patients to have surgery only if they desire to do the procedure for themselves (not for anyone else) and have the resources (such as adequate friend/family support, time off work, financial resources, etc) to have the procedure comfortably and without undue stress. All the best,

Answer: Hair line lowering or forehead reductions are both good options but you need to understand risks and benefits of both. If yo Hair line lowering or forehead reductions are both good options but you need to understand risks and benefits of both. If you are seriously considering surgery, try to visit many doctors in person and get a better personalized assessment/ recommendations. Hairline lowering with hair grafting (hair transplant) will give you the flexibility of designing the hairline and rounding out your temples but it will take time to grow out as it is not an immediate result. Scalp advancement will give you immediate results but it does not always round out the side temples and may leave a visible scar on the hairline.

Answer: Hairline lowering for a more balanced face etc. Hairline lowering for a more balanced face etc. yes your hairline can be lowered with direct advancement which will be more dense and look more natural than hair transplants. Your lower face should be evaluated by and orthognathic maxillofacial surgeon to determine what your occlusion is and to put that in balance. A chin implant should not be done without that consultation. Is her procedure can be done independent of the other by an expert in that field. Make sure you see the hairline that results with an Irregular Trichophytic Forehead Incision which if properly done will not leave a noticeable scar.

Answer: Facial balance Greta, You do have a forehead that is larger than average, and a forehead reduction/hairline advancement would help to balance it out. Based on the photos you do have a strong jaw. A well defined jaw is attractive, but it is a fine line between defined and masculine. You may want to consider a chin implant to slightly advance and refine the chin, and at the same trimming a small amount of bone from the bottom of your jaw. This type of procedure isn't common, so find an experienced surgeon who can show you a lot of their past jaw work. -Dr. Rolfes

Answer: Forehead reduction will definitely help Forehead reduction will definitely make your face look more balanced. Our hospital's hairline forehead reduction looks natural and it can fit for each individual’s face shape with no visible scars. For example: Less curve, straight line for long face Deep curve line for circular shapeDeep curve, diamond-shape line for angular shape and etc. Most of our patients that undergo hairline lowering are also concerned about getting facial balance afterwards and they mostly choose jaw/chin surgeries (like V line surgery). There are few ways to make your chin look balanced after hairline reduction, however, there is a need to get a more personal consultation in order to recommend procedures individually. You can learn more about Forehead reduction in Korea and check our hairline reduction before/afters.
