We would refer you to our Medical Aesthetician who wouldevaluate your skin type and suggest the best moisturizer for you.
It really doesn’t matter, stick with a brand name and make sure it has no alchohol. We like SkinMedica (look up) antioxidants, facial rejuventaiton. We have an esthetician on staff that will see you after your surgery to recommend what’s best for your skin.
Thank you for your question. This type of question is best addressed directly towards your operating surgeon. It would be a good idea to use a moisturizer after the surgery, but the opinion on exactly what kind should be used varies amongst surgeons. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
As part of our pre operative preparation, we analyze the patient's skin and skin care products they are using. Our aestheticians will continue their products or make changes as appropriate which we then continue after surgery. Check with your surgeon to get his or her recommendations for your post op skin care regimen.
After a facelift I allow the patient's to use their moisturizer of choice. This is recommended even when the sutures are in place avoiding direct application on the incisions however
This is a good question. There are a number of moisturizers usedafter facelift. We commonly use Cetaphil or Epionce Medical Barrier cream inthe immediate postoperative period due to skin dryness and sensitivity. If youdo have complex skin concerns, ask your surgeon for a trusted dermatologyreference prior to undergoing your surgery. Be healthy and be well,James M. Ridgway, MD, FACS
Thank you for the question. This is an area that is definitely underestimated by most patients -- congratulations for thinking ahead! In my practice, we like to get patients on a comprehensive skin care regimen even BEFORE surgery, including moisturizer, sunscreen, tretinoin, and a pigment control agent if needed. This same regimen is also used after surgery, though generally we start with the moisturizer and sunscreen only for a few weeks. The specific brand is less important than choosing one that works for your skin type. An aesthetician or skin care specialist can help with this assessment.
Sometimes, in cosmetic medicine and surgery, we try to make a science of things that ain't!Certainly after any skin resurfacing laser work at the same time as your facelift, moisturizers such as Aquaphor, Lubriderm, Eucerin and even Vaseline are very useful. To use too much too long is to invite an invasion of the dreaded milia: these will disappear once you reduce the moisturizer but can be pesky.Once you have healed, what is wrong with what one has used successfully prior to surgery? You may prefer one because of the texture or the aroma, but by-and-large, modern moisturizers work beautifully. Stick with products that have agreed with your skin. This answer may be unpopular with those who may want to push particular lines of product, but c'est la vie.Enjoy your facelift: it is one of the best procedures (done safely and conservatively) to give long-term satisfaction.Prof. Bhupendra C. If you have problematic skin, I would recommend a professional skin care consultation. Since you have "invested" in yourself by getting a facelift, I would recommend continuing the upkeep to "protect" your investment. For my patients I often recommend routine facials, chemical peels, and hydrating facial treatments. We offer the best products to support that.Ask your surgeon for a recommendation.
Dry facial skin is a major problem for men and women after facelift. I recommend that my patients use a moisturizer with sunscreen, mostly a Revision product which comes in clear for men and has tinted options for women. I also recommend a nightly regimen to continue to help tighten the skin and keep it moisturized with a continued glow. This usually requires my individual skin analysis. I have had good success with Environ C Boost, Cquence clarifying cream, and vitamin enriched differing strengths of CQuence for rejeuvenation and maintenance pack. For really bad necks i recommend Nectifirm. For forehead lines I recommend a focus frown serum with a focus CIT micro-needling device after Botox.
A good anterior platysma repair buttressed by suturing the posterior platysma should be enough. I have abandoned the Giampappa Suture because when pulled too tight or placed incorrectly nerve compression and pain behind ear can occur.
Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and...
There is no sound reason for changing your slightly asymmetrical face as you should know that a totally symmetrical face is an exception in nature. The ears are also not normally exactly symmetrical to the millimetre, just as the whole body is not built symmetrically. What you should also know...
