I am 4 weeks post-op. Still have minimal residual swelling on lateral face near my ears. I don't want to jeopardize my results or the health of my skin by having a procedure too soon.
Answer: Laser Resurfacing After Facelift The correct answer to your question is that it really depends on the type of facelift you have undergone. For instance, a subperiosteal facelift would theoretically allow you to have Fraxel skin resurfacing performed much earlier than an extended skinlift. However, the fact that you still have significant swelling on the lateral aspects of your face, where the blood supply and lymphatic drainage can be most tenuous, would argue that you should delay laser resurfacing for at least two to four weeks more. If the plastic surgeon who performed the facelift is not the doctor performing the laser procedure, he should certainly be consulted before you move forward with this treatment.

Answer: Fraxel after Facelift/Neck Lift/Blepharoplasty Typically, after a facelift, neck lift, and upper/lower blepharoplasty, we recommend waiting about 3-4 weeks after this type of surgery to do Fraxel Dual on your face. This gives the skin a chance to heal and also will help in the aid of circulation to the flapin the area that underwent the surgery.

Answer: Laser after a facelift Thank you for your question. It depends on how you are healing and what type of face lift you had performed.I perform a lot of ablative resurfacing at the same time as the facelift in the right candidates.I would ask your surgeon, however after 6 weeks you should be able to do the Fraxel no matter what type of facelift you had as long as you have healed appropriately.Good luck.

Answer: Laser after facelifting Laser over the nonsurgical areas are safe to do now. Laser over the surgical areas such as the lateral face and neck should wait 2 months post op in my opinion. You surgeon will know when and where he operatedand would be the best person to ask.

Answer: Ask your surgeon! RealSelf is an awesome site, but when it comes to getting specific advice, you already have a surgeon and you should ask him/her. No one should be offering you an opinion as to when you can do another procedure other than your surgeon in consultation with the dermatologist doing your fraxel.
