They are poorly positioned and are far too visible. The scar itself is spread and very unsatisfactory. This scars can be softened in their appearance with the anti-metabolite 5-FU which need to be injected under and in the scar. Generally a few sessions several weeks apart can make a big difference. If I assessed you, I would be able to answer if you are a candidate for crease lowering surgery to reconstruct the incision and reestablish an upper eyelid fold with a lower crease. The 5-FU treatment you should be able to find locally. Crease lowering is something that very few surgeons offer. Avoid steroid injections, These will atrophy the upper eyelid. Avoid lash growth serums. These grow lashes but harm the eyelid fat and skin.
Good Morning! The scarring you're showing may respond to steroid injections and gentle massaging. Some areas appear to be hypertrophic and inflamed. The injections can be repeated roughly every 2-3 weeks until softening occurs. It can take time for the scars to declare themselves. If still unsightly, a scar excision may be merited with careful attention to post-operative care by using something like Biocorneum cream. Hope this is useful!
Thank you for your question. With this surgery, the scar is hidden in the upper eyelid crease, and while visible at first, it tends to fade over weeks to months. Scars mature over the course of a year. While your incisions are still maturing, they do appear thicker and more red than I would expect at 6 months. I would ask your surgeon if he or she would consider injection with small amounts of 5-FU, or using light-based treatments to address the redness. I hope you find this helpful, and all the best.-Dr. P
These scars are visible and require attention. I would combine my exclusive Foxtail Eyelid Lift (TM) with scar laser to help reduce the scar and make it more hidden in your tarsal crease. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
6 months after an upper blepharoplasty the scar is typically a thin line hidden in the eyelid crease. Your scar appears to be hyperpigmented and possibly hypertrophic in areas. I would recommend seeing your surgeon to discuss options to help improve this.
