My right eye is definitely more droopy than my left and I'm wondering if I'm a good candidate for upper eyelid surgery. I'm 37, but genetically this issue gets worse with the people in my family. Would I need a brow lift too?

Answer: Unilateral blepharoplasty Thank you for sharing your question and posting your photos. Unilateral blepharoplasty is common in my practice. It can be performed with local anesthetic and appearing normal typically occurs by 2 weeks. See an experienced oculoplastic surgeon for comprehensive evaluation and guidance. Good luck!

Answer: Brow and Eye Your right brow is slightly lower than your left which adds some heaviness to your lid. A browlift could help with that but expecting exact brow symmetry through that is challenging. Blepharoplasty may benefit to achieve better symmetry of your eyelids, but can pull the brow down a little. A combination of both will likely give you the best chance for a symmetric outcome.

Answer: A small blepharoplasty could benefit you Yes, you do have an element of excess upper eyelid skin. Excess skin is necessary in the upper eyelid and lower eyelid in order to allow for eyelid closure during blinking and sleeping. This being said, most patients develop too much excess as they age. A formal in-person evaluation would be necessary to truly assess this. Eyelid surgery as a common procedure that I perform. Please see the attached link for information from our practice.
