Maribel Belmontes Castillo, MD

Just by chance I discovered Dra. Maribel Belmontes’ Facebook page and the Reels she post of her patients. I observed the magic performed on her patients transforming them in ways I had not seen in the US. I observed for about 6-9 months before making my decision to have procedures done with her. The latter part of September 2025 I was fortunate enough to engage Dra. Belmontes to perform a deep plane facelift and neck lift. As great as the Reels are at showcasing her specialty, what really sold me on Dra. Belmontes is her ability to connect and the caring and kindness she exudes with her patients while doing the Reels. She and her staff are genuine, kind people who want the patients not only to have a great surgical outcome but also a great experience with her practice. Dra. Belmontes suggests using the hyper baric oxygen therapy (HBOT) unit several times while staying in Guadalajara. I stayed 12 days post surgery using HBOT frequently. This aided my healing greatly. I am really glad that it was available to support my recovery experience. My surgery was 3 months ago and the results are phenomenal. Of course, as women we are super critical of what we see in the mirror. The thing that irritated me the most were my eyes. I could no longer apply eye makeup to my eyes the way I once had. Of course, I needed the face, neck and skin tightening, etc. but the eyes are absolutely remarkable as are the other procedures she performed. I had not shown Dra. Belmontes a photo of my eyes pre-surgery. However, after the swelling went done a bit I did! Dra. Belmontes performed surgery magic making my eyes appear as they did in the photograph I had not previously shown her. My eyes were 30-35 years old at the time of the photograph. She is nothing but phenomenal. Everyone seeks something different from plastic surgery. Some people want to turn back the hands of time. That can certainly be done. I wanted to be able to apply my eye makeup the way I am used to seeing it and now I can! My daughter came over to examine me to make sure I still looked like her mother. Mission accomplished! She was shocked when she started running her fingers through my hair searching for scars! There are no scars on or about my face nor any in front of my ears. NONE. There are scars in back of my ears and near my hairline. The scars are minimal and are gradually fading. In time, probably a year or less, the scars will no longer be noticeable. The hospital where the surgery is performed is very modern, clean and professional. My room was huge. It was no different than those in the city in which I live. I could not have chosen a better Doctura to perform my surgery—she loves what she does and it shows! Thank you Doctura for my beautiful results!

I recently returned home after having Dra Belmontes work her magic on my neck and face. I cannot recommend her and her team more highly. She has incredible attention to detail, talent, and cares deeply about her patients. Since she has become incredibly popular (and rightly so) because of the phenomenal results of some of her recent patients, I wasn’t sure how much of her time I would actually get. I should not have let this even cross my mind. In the Two weeks I was in Guadalajara post op, she saw me about 8 times. If I were in the U.S.- there is no way I would have been seen more than a few times by most surgeons. Patient care is clearly her top priority. After I got my drains out on day 3, I overdid it walking around a lot the next day, and ended up with some fluid accumulation in my neck. She saw me same-day to drain the fluid manually, and again daily until the fluid was no longer an issue (totally my own fault, but she made the time to take care of me regardless). I’m absolutely thrilled with my results. Her sutures are superbly well done and my scars, just two weeks post op, are already invisible in a few areas and healing really well in others. I am so grateful I hired Dra Belmontes. She prioritizes safety and patient care while delivering incredible results for her patients. The hospital she works out of is a private, 5 star hospital. Her team of nurses and her anesthesiologist are top-tier as well. I did extensive research on her and others for over a year before moving forward with her. No one delivers the same caliber of work that she does, in my opinion, unless you’re talking about Dr Nayak or another high-profile surgeon who would be in the $300k++ price range. Fortunately, I got the same quality results without an insane price tag, and I was extremely well-cared for throughout the process. You can’t ask for any better than that!

Dra Belmontes and her staff are wonderful. She is a gifted surgeon. Her care and attention to detail are amazing! I highly recommend her. I had a facelift and neck lift, forehead lift, lip lift, and chin implant.

I can't believe the transformation that Dra. Belmontes has achieved with me! I am thrilled with my results!! 5 weeks ago, I had the deep plane face lift with buccal fat removal, neck lift, and had my ear lobes shortened a little. I was 42 at the time of my surgery and had lost about 160 pounds, hence the copious loose skin and sagging cheeks. Pain was minimal; mostly headaches and jaw/temple aches for the first few days. My recovery was quick and free of complications. I was back at my desk job after 11 days (earlier than recommended by her, I should mention). She and her staff were personable and competent. I speak Spanish, so I can't speak to the language barrier being an issue. My only complaints are that her surgeon fee can only be paid in cash (hopefully that changes) and my sideburn was left a bit too high, but she did warn me that might happen if I opted to have the incision hidden in the hairline. I still am thrilled with the results! I would highly recommend Dra. Belmontes to anyone looking for a dramatic (yet not overdone) change! It's been over 2 months for me . 2024 FFL. At first thought that the eyebrow lift was a mistake as it looked too lifted but the higher the lift the better because as you heal the exaggeration all settles nicely. No scars on lids or anywhere else. Everything is even , lifted , amazing . She was the best choice. I did a-lot research on popular go to Doctors that women rave about . Still even after seeing many after results from these popular Doctors I know that she is better and the best . She even fixed my ears from a birth defects just because she was already going to be cutting up in that area . Might as well she said I was like oh ok yeah :) . I just went for it was not extra either. Grateful !

My search for a plastic surgeon started about a year in advance of making my decision. I had gotten a consult from a US based plastic surgeon and that quote easily surpassed my budget. I would've NEVER considered going outside of the US for ANY kind of surgery but after joining some groups of ladies and gents that had done just that, I began to take notes to assist me in narrowing it down to THE ONE. This is not a decision that I took lightly as it is my face and I only have one of those and there's no way to "hide it away" in the event of a bad outcome. I had narrowed my list of surgeons down to 4. My main focus was to watch and learn about these 4 and slowly, one by one, 3 were crossed off and Dr Belmontes was the winner! Her work that I'd seen was just phenomenal, and at my age, 60, the deep plane procedure was the one I found, through research, to be the best option for me. From start to finish, the entire process, from requesting a consultation to the flight home from MX, was very professional and well thought out by, and details taken care of, by Dr B's wonderful assistant Adriana. Adriana was always there to answer any question for me before surgery and she continues to answer my questions to this day. She's amazing. I arrived in MX on a Sunday with a Tuesday surgery date. I met with the cardiologist and was cleared by him and then on to my in person consultation with Dr B. We discussed my concerns and we talked about all of the procedures I had budgeted for but a couple of those procedures fell off of the "the list" after seeing her in person and her evaluating my needs. She listened to my main concerns and explained the procedures that could be done to address each of those. She is NOT a pushy surgeon. She did NOT try to talk me into anything not needed. I found that to be comforting because I felt that my results and care were her top priority. I stayed at Innova recovery center for a total of 13 days. My husband was with me the first 6, then he flew back home after he knew that I would be taken care of. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and I can't even begin to tell you how positively things progressed from that day forward. I am now at 3 weeks, 2 days post op and I am over the moon happy with my results. Innova has nursing care 24/7 and they do lymphatic massages and US therapy as part of the post op care. I will post a separate review on them BUT, I will say here, I would choose that recovery house again without hesitation. Surgery on Tuesday and in patient follow up on Friday for partial suture removal and drains were removed at that time as well. Innova has a personal driver for Dr B's patients and let me just say, Edgar is THE BEST!!! He is bilingual so he is a LOT of help with pharmacy runs, doctors appts, hyperbaric O2 treatments, you name it. The next week, M-F, I saw Dr B every day. Things were progressing nicely and sutures, eye tape, etc were slowly removed over the course of that week and I was released to fly home on that Saturday. Dr B does require AT LEAST a 10 day post op stay so that anything that might need addressed IS addressed. My procedures included deep plane FL/NL, upper and lower bleph, CO2 laser to the entire face and dermabrasion to the upper lip (vertical lip lines). Innova has you on your wound care!! They take care of EVERYTHING. Dr B requires AT LEAST 3 hyperbaric tx's while there. I did 1 pre op and 7 post op. I truly believe that has helped me heal faster than I would've without them. Anyway, let's talk about this amazing, talented surgeon now that the details are out of the way. Dr B is simply AMAZING. I can't think of enough positive adjectives to place before her name that would do her and her skills justice, she's THAT good. She is bilingual. She is caring. She never made me feel uneasy. She is very personable and she has trained with some of THE best plastic surgeons from the US and abroad. Read her "about me" on her website. I was blown away by her experience and continued education in the field of plastic surgery and was quite impressed with all of that. If I should ever have need for any other plastic surgery procedure, Dr B is my ONLY choice. She is a perfectionist (as am I). Yes, she is young. Yes, her years of experience aren't in the triple digits but she has trained well and has educated herself beyond her required training. Another reason I chose her was that she is female and she gets us women. I chose her because of her updated techniques and skill. I chose her because I've seen nothing but stellar outcomes on her patients. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still choose her. I could go on and on but I'll close this for now. I had been researching US plastic surgeons for almost 4 years and found a couple that were so amazing but I knew I would never be able to afford to have my facelift done by them. So, having lived in Mexico for 23 years, I decided to look at my options on mainland Mexico. A friend suggested that I research Dr. Belmontes due to her having the same surgery style as those that I loved in the US. So, I began to follow her on Instagram and immediately identified how very talented she was/is. After following her for almost a year, I made a consultation appointment about 7 months ago and scheduled by surgery right away. I am 2 weeks out from my surgery and couldn’t be more pleased. She performed a full deep plane facelift and neck lift on me as well as upper eyelid surgery and a lip lift and Although I am still swollen, bruised and not feeling 100%, I can see the huge improvement. I am so happy with Dr. Belmontes and her staff and grateful for not only the great job she did but her suggestion of recovery houses which were spot on. They took care of me from beginning to end for 2 full weeks. Thank you Dr. Belmontes. I will always be grateful.

Dr. Belmontes is a truly gifted surgeon. I had a facelift, neck lift, upper bleph, small chin implant, lip lift & CO2 laser a month ago, & I could be not be more satisfied. My results are absolutely amazing and I am totally blown away. I had minimal bruising, absolutely no pain & I was comfortable enough with my appearance to have dinner out a week after the procedure. I literally have no scarring under my nose or in front of my ears. She is meticulous in her suturing technique, which was important for me. She also recommends at least 3 hyperbolic chamber treatments to accelerate healing (I did 7). Kudos to Dr. Belmonte’s assistant who responded to all of my inquiries, no matter how silly in a timely manner & walked me through every detail of the process, making me feel so comfortable. Dr. Belmonte is a consummate professional. She made me feel so comfortable and confident in her abilities that I had zero worries going into the surgery. The hospital was a state of the art facility and the care was superb. She even checked in on me personally with a surprise video call a week after I got home. She’s truly a remarkable & caring surgeon. Her recommendation on a recovery house was excellent. They took care of everything, including rides to all of my appointments and the airport. The whole experience was extremely positive. If I ever do another surgery in the future I will definitely travel back to see Dr. Bemontes.
