Maribel Belmontes Castillo, MD

I am 58 years old and recently lost 100 pounds for the second time. My neck and face really took a hit. I wanted to look in the mirror and feel happy, or at least not watch my face drop further and further each day. I did quite a bit of research, as much as I could. And I found a Facebook page where patients of Dr Belmontes reported their experiences. This was very helpful. I am not sure I would have been able to make the choice without that support. I had a facelift, neck lift, forehead lift, upper and lower eye lifts and earlobe reduction. I arrived at the hospital at 6:30 am and was immediately taken to a large really nice room with a private bathroom and one bed. Cedars Sinai has nothing on San Javier! Quite quickly I was wheeled to surgery, put to sleep, and woke up in my bed. I did not have any pain at all. Dr. Belmontes’ nurse Lula stayed with me the entire night . The next day I went to the care home, Innova, where I would stay for the next 15 days. I had no pain after surgery. I was uncomfortable because of the swelling but never pain. When my eyes became very itchy images were sent to Dr. Belmontes and Lula came right over and did something with little tools on the inside of my lower eyelids. It didn’t hurt and I had no fear because it seemed like Lula had done this a hundred times before. She fixed whatever was wrong and that was the end of the itchiness! During this time and throughout my stay my photos were emailed daily to Dr. Belmontes who was on her honeymoon! She was on her honeymoon and was still getting daily reports and giving directions. In Los Angles, where I live, this kind of attention from one’s doctor is unheard of. I stayed at Innova Care Home in Guadalajara where I was looked after the entire time I was healing. I saw Dr. Belmontes’ assistants several times to check on my progress and remove stitches as my healing progressed. I had exactly 2 seconds of pain during the entire quite involved process. When the sutures were removed a staple from the forehead lift incision was taken out and that hurt. But that’s it. Only one moment of pain the entire time. The rest of the time I felt uncomfortable from Swelling. Like I was wearing a tight mask. But it didn’t hurt and was easily tolerated. Now I am waiting at the airport to go home. I am still swollen but I look damn good and I am More than 100% pleased with my surgeon, my care and my outcome. I’m also pretty proud of myself for doing what it took to make this happen. I do not believe that I could get the same care in Los Angeles, and almost feel that there aren’t words to express how easy this whole process has been. And yah, I look bitchin. It’s been 15 days since surgery and I am definitely swollen, it goes up and down. But even with the swelling it’s an unbelievable improvement. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Belmontes and her wonderful team.

I travelled from New Zealand to have a face and neck lift with Maribel Belmontes. I also added on a lateral brow lift and upper and lower bleph were included. The entire experience was exceptional and I am so glad I chose her as my surgeon. My results are even better than I imagined. Maribel is an amazing surgeon and her and her team so supportive during every step. I feel very lucky to have had her work her magic on my face and neck.

Just by chance I discovered Dra. Maribel Belmontes’ Facebook page and the Reels she post of her patients. I observed the magic performed on her patients transforming them in ways I had not seen in the US. I observed for about 6-9 months before making my decision to have procedures done with her. The latter part of September 2025 I was fortunate enough to engage Dra. Belmontes to perform a deep plane facelift and neck lift. As great as the Reels are at showcasing her specialty, what really sold me on Dra. Belmontes is her ability to connect and the caring and kindness she exudes with her patients while doing the Reels. She and her staff are genuine, kind people who want the patients not only to have a great surgical outcome but also a great experience with her practice. Dra. Belmontes suggests using the hyper baric oxygen therapy (HBOT) unit several times while staying in Guadalajara. I stayed 12 days post surgery using HBOT frequently. This aided my healing greatly. I am really glad that it was available to support my recovery experience. My surgery was 3 months ago and the results are phenomenal. Of course, as women we are super critical of what we see in the mirror. The thing that irritated me the most were my eyes. I could no longer apply eye makeup to my eyes the way I once had. Of course, I needed the face, neck and skin tightening, etc. but the eyes are absolutely remarkable as are the other procedures she performed. I had not shown Dra. Belmontes a photo of my eyes pre-surgery. However, after the swelling went done a bit I did! Dra. Belmontes performed surgery magic making my eyes appear as they did in the photograph I had not previously shown her. My eyes were 30-35 years old at the time of the photograph. She is nothing but phenomenal. Everyone seeks something different from plastic surgery. Some people want to turn back the hands of time. That can certainly be done. I wanted to be able to apply my eye makeup the way I am used to seeing it and now I can! My daughter came over to examine me to make sure I still looked like her mother. Mission accomplished! She was shocked when she started running her fingers through my hair searching for scars! There are no scars on or about my face nor any in front of my ears. NONE. There are scars in back of my ears and near my hairline. The scars are minimal and are gradually fading. In time, probably a year or less, the scars will no longer be noticeable. The hospital where the surgery is performed is very modern, clean and professional. My room was huge. It was no different than those in the city in which I live. I could not have chosen a better Doctura to perform my surgery—she loves what she does and it shows! Thank you Doctura for my beautiful results!

I recently returned home after having Dra Belmontes work her magic on my neck and face. I cannot recommend her and her team more highly. She has incredible attention to detail, talent, and cares deeply about her patients. Since she has become incredibly popular (and rightly so) because of the phenomenal results of some of her recent patients, I wasn’t sure how much of her time I would actually get. I should not have let this even cross my mind. In the Two weeks I was in Guadalajara post op, she saw me about 8 times. If I were in the U.S.- there is no way I would have been seen more than a few times by most surgeons. Patient care is clearly her top priority. After I got my drains out on day 3, I overdid it walking around a lot the next day, and ended up with some fluid accumulation in my neck. She saw me same-day to drain the fluid manually, and again daily until the fluid was no longer an issue (totally my own fault, but she made the time to take care of me regardless). I’m absolutely thrilled with my results. Her sutures are superbly well done and my scars, just two weeks post op, are already invisible in a few areas and healing really well in others. I am so grateful I hired Dra Belmontes. She prioritizes safety and patient care while delivering incredible results for her patients. The hospital she works out of is a private, 5 star hospital. Her team of nurses and her anesthesiologist are top-tier as well. I did extensive research on her and others for over a year before moving forward with her. No one delivers the same caliber of work that she does, in my opinion, unless you’re talking about Dr Nayak or another high-profile surgeon who would be in the $300k++ price range. Fortunately, I got the same quality results without an insane price tag, and I was extremely well-cared for throughout the process. You can’t ask for any better than that!

I can't believe the transformation that Dra. Belmontes has achieved with me! I am thrilled with my results!! 5 weeks ago, I had the deep plane face lift with buccal fat removal, neck lift, and had my ear lobes shortened a little. I was 42 at the time of my surgery and had lost about 160 pounds, hence the copious loose skin and sagging cheeks. Pain was minimal; mostly headaches and jaw/temple aches for the first few days. My recovery was quick and free of complications. I was back at my desk job after 11 days (earlier than recommended by her, I should mention). She and her staff were personable and competent. I speak Spanish, so I can't speak to the language barrier being an issue. My only complaints are that her surgeon fee can only be paid in cash (hopefully that changes) and my sideburn was left a bit too high, but she did warn me that might happen if I opted to have the incision hidden in the hairline. I still am thrilled with the results! I would highly recommend Dra. Belmontes to anyone looking for a dramatic (yet not overdone) change! It's been over 2 months for me . 2024 FFL. At first thought that the eyebrow lift was a mistake as it looked too lifted but the higher the lift the better because as you heal the exaggeration all settles nicely. No scars on lids or anywhere else. Everything is even , lifted , amazing . She was the best choice. I did a-lot research on popular go to Doctors that women rave about . Still even after seeing many after results from these popular Doctors I know that she is better and the best . She even fixed my ears from a birth defects just because she was already going to be cutting up in that area . Might as well she said I was like oh ok yeah :) . I just went for it was not extra either. Grateful !
