The woman in the short video posted with this answer had her tip brought closer to her face with a rhinoplasty. That's called "de-projecting" the tip.Be sure to read the section in the "Learn more" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon. You should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. Read that page very carefully. Most plastic surgeons are quite poor at this operation, and I believe my advice will go a long way toward keeping you safe.I usually make computer morphs when I'm answering a RealSelf question, to show the changes that are possible for your nose with a rhinoplasty. For example see this page:FacialSurgery.com/RealSelf/RealSelf_Morphs.htmlBut of course you didn't post any photos. At the *very* bottom of the "Learn more" page is a link to instructions on taking photos that are comprehensive and useful for online consultations like this, in case you'd like a more complete evaluation.
The features that you describe can adjusted to achieve a smaller nasal size with a reduction of tip projection. It would be useful to see some photographs. Depending on the degree of tip projection it is likely that you would need an open rhinoplasty. At the same time the shape and configuration of the nasal tip cartilages can be adjusted to achieve a more rounded tip appearance. However, these decisions need to be made at a consultation . I would recommend seeking the opinion of an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon
Rhinoplasty might help, but Without an exam, it will not be possible to fully evaluate you and give you recommendations. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified. I've attached a link where you can start your search.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Based onyour description, you may benefit from a nasal tip deprojection to decrease the projection of your nasal tip. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
A rhinoplasty (nose job) is an operation that alters the shape of the nose. You should see a rhinoplasty expert for a consultation to analyze your nose, discuss your wishes, and formulate a treatment plan. The nasal tip along with other areas of the nose can be changed in size and shape. Best wishes!
Tip plasty can achieve that with reducing the excess cartilage and making it smoother at the tip area. However if there is large hump that will need to be removed at the same time. RegardsDr. J
Thanks for your question. Wish you had submitted some photos to really give you an accurate assessment. Regardless, your desires are very common in rhinoplasty patients. Making the nose smaller and less "pointy" are easily performed sometimes in a closed fashion but more commonly in an open approach. Please see an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.
Generally speaking- Rhinoplasty-a surgical procedure tat can address all of the elements of the nose. You would need to seek an experienced Board Certified PS with extensive experience in Rhinoplasty for in person exam.
Many goals can be achieved with rhinoplasty. One can make the nose bigger or smaller. Reduce humps and refine shape. Depending on your goals and in consultation with a board certified experienced plastic surgeon, rhinoplasty can help you achieve your ultimate desire.
Good morning and thank you for your question. Yes, it is possible to make your nose smaller and tip rounder. I recommend you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty. Some plastic surgeons will even do a free virtual consultation online! They will discuss your goals, examine you, show you simulations of what your nose would look like after surgery, and go over before and after pictures of other patients so that you get a better idea what type of result you can expect to get. Good luck!
