I’m 31/f, and have had no children. I really want to get a bbl and a breast lift/augmentation at some point but I’ve ultimately decided to wait until after childre for the latter (I have no plans to get pregnant immediately, but would like to start trying before October 2025). I know a lot of dr’s have said a bbl shouldn’t be impacted by pregnancy, but what should I expect for the results? Will the lipo’d areas be different post partum than if I hadn’t had surgery? Will my butt change?
Answer: BBL and pregnancy Dear Michelle Vasquez, if you get pregnant after BBL surgery, it is likely that your weight will increase and weight fluctuations can have a negative effect on BBL results. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: BBL While it's true that a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure should not directly impact pregnancy, it's important to keep in mind that pregnancy itself can have an effect on the results of the procedure. Pregnancy can cause changes in the body's weight, shape, and skin elasticity, which may affect the appearance of the areas treated with liposuction during a BBL. Additionally, the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy can cause the buttocks to become larger and lose some of the definition created during the BBL. It's also possible that pregnancy and breastfeeding may cause changes in breast shape and size that could affect the results of a breast lift or augmentation performed after pregnancy. If you're considering a BBL or breast surgery and are planning to have children in the near future, it may be beneficial to wait until after you have completed your family before pursuing these procedures. This can help to ensure that you achieve the best possible results with the least amount of need for revision surgery. Ultimately, it's important to have a thorough consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate your individual needs and goals, and provide personalized recommendations for the most appropriate timing and approach for your desired procedures. They can also discuss any potential risks and complications associated with the procedures and help you make an informed decision. I hope this helps, best of luck !

Answer: how will pregnancy impact BBL results a year or two later? Hello, @Michelle Vasquez, Thank you for your question. Pregnancy can undoubtedly have an effect on your BBL results. Liposculpture, on the other hand, has a memory. This means that when we lower the amount of adipose cells and you gain weight, the fat cells that remain grow in size, but if you watch your diet, those cells shrink. This explains why we see women who have acquired weight and then lose it after going on a diet, or who have become pregnant and gained 30 or 40 pounds and then lost it after the pregnancy. To help preserve your BBL results, it is critical to maintain a healthy lifestyle and weight before and after pregnancy. I link a video to shed more light. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: Pregnancy related body changes Pregnancies cause many potential body changes in women. In particular abdominal skin, laxity and muscle separation. If potential weight gain is significant, then skin laxity can be more diffuse, including other parts of the body, like upper and lower extremities and back breast usually and gorge with breast, feeding the loose, volume after causing a loss of volume in the upper half of the breast with potential, lowering of the nipple areola complex called ptosis or droopiness. Pregnancy does not change fat distribution, and the BBL is based purely on fat distribution. Patient should expect to have normal pregnancy related changes, which very substantially based on genetics and potential weight gain with each pregnancy. The correct time to have cosmetic surgery is when the desire to have the procedure at ways to potential risks and cost. delivering consistent quality, liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people believe. The number of plastic surgeons who do these procedures well on a consistent basis is relatively small. Patients should be more selective than they think necessary. The BBL is a permanent and irreversible operation. If done poorly people can be left disfigured. I suggest patients start by having at least five in person, consultations to get a good understanding of their own candidacy for various procedures, and begin in the vetting process to find the best provider.
