I had liposuction of my upper & lower abs, sides, back, with a mini tummy tuck, & a fat transfer to buttocks 32 days ago & it doesn't appear I had surgery at all aside for the pain, swelling and a tummy incision that looks to be improperly sutured I look the same as I did before the surgery. Shouldn't my abdominal area be flat by now? My abdomen is still fat... I see no difference in my body structure. What should I do? Also, my incision is hard and looks buckled. How can that be fixed?
Answer: Recovery You are still early in your recovery. It can take up to six months for swelling to resolve and up to a year to see your final results. I know it is hard to be patient, but more time is needed. Continue to closely follow the post op instructions from your surgeon and keep her/him aware of any new concerns.

Answer: Should you see a difference by now. While I agree with other surgeons that you will not see your final results until you are 4-6 months post op, I would say that you should see some sort of a difference by now. Incisions can take more time to soften and relax. I would express your concerns with your surgeon. In addition, I would request to see your before photos so that you can compare. I wish you the best of luck!

Answer: Tummy Tuck - Post Op Swelling? Thank you for your question. You should expect to have swelling for three to six months following your surgery. Use of a properly fitted compression garment will help decrease the length and severity of the post-operative swelling. As the swelling decreases, the contour of your abdomen, flanks, and hips will dramatically improve. Please follow your plastic surgeons specific advice regarding your level of physical activity. Hope this helps and good luck with your recovery.
