Dr. Bandy's journey started with a love for STEM during early education that directed her toward an interest in research. Upon having her first son prematurely she spent much of her time in a hospital setting and knew she wanted to become a physician. She had her three children with her husband and once their children were settled into grade school, she headed off to medical school! In medical school, she found her passion for plastic surgery seeing the opportunity it provided to operate on the full body.
I am very happy with my results at the 8-week mark! I had lipo of the abdomen, flanks, and bra rolls in order to regain my pre-menopause body. Dr. Bandy is very kind, very efficient, and seems to love her work! I can tell that she takes pride in giving her patients a great result. I had several reasons for selecting her. I know someone who had abdominal lipo with her which turned out very well, and I had a different procedure with her a few years ago which I am very happy with. The biggest reason was probably that she took a conservative approach with me. I had previously consulted with another surgeon who insisted that a tummy tuck was the only way to go. He barely looked at my body. I think he assumed that because I had 2 kids that my muscles must be in need of repair. I really did not want a TT. Not knowing my feelings about TT, Dr. Bandy said she would do lipo for me. Hooray! Then, she said if I later decide that I want a TT, I can get one then. But right now, seeing how good I look now at 8 weeks, I would say that lipo has accomplished what I wanted. Dr. Bandy and her staff are terrific!
The nurses and office girlies are all very attentive and so so sweet! They made scheduling appointments a breeze too. Dr. Bandy herself is amazing and from my experience actually listens to what will make her patients happy. She checked in on me personally multiple times after my procedure. So far I’m loving my results and if I ever need anything else Dr. Bandy will be my go to. She is a rare gem of a plastic surgeon.
Dr. Amy Bandy and her staff are exceptional!! I don’t even know where to begin. My husband and I did a lot of research in finding the right Dr. for my surgeries in the Southern California area. My husband came across Dr. Bandy’s office on google and made an appointment for a consult after reading up on her years of experience and her board certifications, as these were important to us. Upon walking in to her office we were greeted with the sweetest office staff with such great vibes. Quickly took us to a private room and got right to it. Dr. Bandy came in and listened to what my body dreams were and the look I wanted to accomplish. Dr. bandy was very professional and broke it down in to 3 separate surgeries that I would need to have to make my dream body a beautiful reality. She explained what was possible and what was not. Dr. Bandy was upfront with all the risks and rewards of each surgery. I was so pleased with her knowledge and expertise that I booked my surgery that day. Let’s fast forward a full year. I am currently healing from my last and final surgery that we planned on that day of my first consult. The first surgery I had a breast reduction and lift with liposuction. 8 weeks after the first surgery, I had the second surgery which involved a full tummy tuck and breast augmentation. My last surgery was 11 months after my first. I had an overfill using the same implants for my desired look! During all my procedures I could count on the staff to be by my side through it all. They were available 24/7 365 for all my questions and concerns. I did all my surgeries during holiday times and that did not limit my contact with the staff. They are available via email and by phone. Dr. Bandy even gives a direct number to her in case of emergencies. I was truly blessed to have come across Dr. Bandy and have her as my Plastic Surgeon. I’m 37 with the body I have always dreamed of and Dr. Bandy and her staff gave that to me. I can not sing their praises enough. You will not be disappointed if you choose Dr Amy Bandy, I promise you! Dr Amy Bandy, Amiee, Kaitlyn, & Stephanie are the best SO. CAL. team there is ! Now hurry up and make that phone call for your consultant to make your dream body a reality!!
I just can't tell you how happy I am. I was totally worried as another surgeon did not want to take my situation on. Amy was confident and very reassuring that all would be great! It was more than great, it was the best experience. If you are in the market for some "bigger boobs" she is the expert! I would recommend her to anyone wanting a great outcome and a wonderful bedside manner.
I recently had a breast implant surgery with Dr. Bandy. After over a year looking for a Dr to swap out my saline over filled implants and over fill new saline implants to a larger size to help inflate my loose skin from pregnancy and weight gain and lose. I did not want a lift and knew I would still have loose skin but somehow Dr. Bandy was able to fill all my skin without the scar of a lift. I asked her to give me a nice round shape but not exceed a certain size. I trusted her and they came out amazing. My breasts look perfect. Better than I imagined. The entire staff is professional. The office is clean and the OR is conveniently located at the same address. They are covid concerned with I appreciate. You can tell health and safety comes first here. I highly recommend this surgeon.
I can’t believe it finally happened. I got extremely stretched out by exclusively breast pumping for over a year, then I breast fed my 2nd child. Naturally small chested my whole life and started as an A cup. There was a particular look i was going for and was shocked that I was recommended 1.) high profile and 2.) mentor XTRAS which have more projection. I want a very soft natural looking slope, with lots of heaviness on the bottom Doctor gave me a donut lift. Updated on 6 Nov 2021: One side is 595 cc, the other is 560 in high profile mentor xtra. I’m feeling depressed about my body today. I knew my implants would look bad for a few weeks but I wasn’t expecting all this water retention in my gut. I look so top heavy and have no waist line to speak of. I don’t want to eat, but am still feeling nauseous and have all these pills/ vitamins to take. Updated on 7 Nov 2021: This morning I was happy to see that my sternum is looking less swollen and I appear to have more cleavage in the bra- which is now digging into my armpits. Last night I noticed I have discoloration on my lower legs which is annoying- I can’t handle being worried about one more thing!!! Yesterday the pain seemed to be at its best and this morning they are quite painful again. Updated on 8 Nov 2021: I don’t know what I am reacting to, but I am red and rashly all over and itchy. My skin feels like I took way too much niacin. I’ve never been allergic to anything before. I don’t understand why, a week after surgery, I am feeling like this Updated on 8 Nov 2021: My doctor told me to stop taking me meds. I must be allergic to the anti biotic. I’ve taken benedryl and that stopped the itching but I’m still mega flushed and hot feeling. I’ve never dealt with this before. What an interesting recovery this has been! Updated on 8 Nov 2021: So I was allergic to my anti biotic. I’m allergic to sulfa. As the day progressed my face continued mouth and ears continued to swell and my heart rate picked up. I went to urgent care and was approaching anaphylactic shock. They gave me some epinephrine and sent me home with a steroid, but my doctor suggested I don’t take the steroid. She said to take Benadryl so that’s what I’m going to do. The epi shot helped with the redness of my face but the rash is still out of control Updated on 9 Nov 2021: Okay so I’m still red but feeling a lot better. The ER prescribed a steroid, and my surgeon said that taking it was playing with fire because it prevented wound healing. So I will continue to take benedryl In other news, my left implant, which is the smaller one, appears to be getting a bit softer in my cleavage area. The outsides of my Boobs are very hard and still swollen and feel very sore. My underboobs are still numb. I am starting to get zingers and tingling sensations like my milk is letting down. Morning boob is real- like how guys wake up with a hard on- now I’m waking up with hard boobies, I wonder if it stays that way. I’m starting to adjust to the size and think this size is going to look good on my body. I’m also going to ride my stationary bike today, I keep my heart rate right around 100, I did this two days ago and still got a sweat going, especially around my boobs. I’ve heard girls say their boobs sweat a lot more after implants. One thing I’m not use to is having high beams all the time snd I hope it doesn’t stay that way, I don’t want to be grocery shopping on high alert it’s embarrassing I can’t wait for the giant hill on top to start settling into a slope. Updated on 10 Nov 2021: I am getting more feeling back all over and it’s still quite painful and feels very bruised. BUT I am happy with the way they are looking. I was fearful they would be too far apart and already look like they are starting to come together yay Updated on 12 Nov 2021: they dont look much different, but I am worried about my right boob a little. A few days ago I reached for something and really hurt myself. Its like I pulled my muscle. 4 days later it is hurting pretty bad and now my right boob is sitting higher then the left. I hope it is nothing serious. Its not red or hot, and does not feel harder then the other one. trying to stay positive lol. Updated on 13 Nov 2021: Yesterday I got a band and wore it for about 5 hours but I took it off to sleep, my doctor hasn’t actually told me to wear one yet- I see Tuesday virtually. I am getting more nervous my right boob. It doesn’t look bad in the picture I took but it is higher then the left and suuuuper sensitive at the top. The inner cleavage of my Left boob is also softer then the right. I anticipated my right to drop sooner then the left because I am right handed, however the right one is the bigger implant. I’m just worried about this pain that isn’t getting better. Please lord don’t let me have cc. Is it possible this early? Updated on 13 Nov 2021: I was able to flex my boobs easily before surgery, but now, I can flex one a lot more then the other one- has anyone else experienced this and will they even out? I have to write 200 characters. This is dumb Updated on 16 Nov 2021: So I got to take my tapes off and my nipples look really ugly and uneven. But I am very happy that I don’t have a bunch of puckering due to the donut lift She said I can sleep however I want. I can go without a bra I should wear the strap 24 hours as tight as I can handle to help push them down I can do sit-ups I can do lunges and squats with body weight Updated on 22 Nov 2021: My nipples began peeling really bad so I put Band-Aids on them with Neosporin. My right boob is still sitting higher and is still hurting more than the left, sometimes the pain goes into my armpit and up my shoulder. I am worried about this boob developing capsular contracture I am still fairly sore where she created my new boob crease, and under my armpits. I think this is due to her carving out the pocket for the implant. My nipples scare me a little bit with the left one appearing larger and the nipple being off-center to the areola. The right one appears oval shaped, but they are both still puffy and swollen so I’m trying not to worry about it. I’ve been wearing my band as tight as I can to try and shove the implants down into my lower pole, but as you can see in the picture they just don’t wanna go into it. The top is much more round in full than the bottom still Updated on 29 Nov 2021: First off, I think visually they appear softer then they actually feel. They’re still pretty firm. So I wanted to post a squish vid because I believe I’m behind the curve, and hopefully they will end up super squishy and my video will ease some concerns for someone else, because I can’t find many women who have mentor xtra in a high profile bigger then 500cc. Ans in older accounts the videos are gone. I had my first in person consult and the doctor said they were healing nice, but were firmer then average due to right muscle and everyone heals different. She took out some spitting stitches And got new bandeus to strap me down from the office, they are waay better then the one I got on Amazon. My skin on my boobs are very dry so I got bio oil from cvs that I’ll start using twice a day. I was going to get scar strips from the surgeons office, but honestly I don’t think I’ll need it. She did a great great job on my incisions. I’m really glad I didn’t settle on a cheaper or more local doc. Amy bandy is top notch. Oh Ans one more thing, I told her about how I hurt myself and it’s still tender, should I worry about cc? She wrote me a script that is made for asthma snd is also an anti inflammatory and she said it helps a lot with reversing cc, and it was safe to take just in case. I’ll start it tomorrow when I pick it up. It’s called….I can’t remember sorry I’ll put it in my next post. Updated on 7 Dec 2021: They are very slowly getting softer. They look pretty even. My nipples/areolas aren’t exactly the same- but maybe they will even themselves out as they get softer. I am still sore on the top, sides, and bottom. They still are a bit tight Updated on 13 Dec 2021: Pretty much all the pain is gone, but I still have numbness especially on the bottom half of the boob. I’m a little disappointed that at this point they are not softer and that they haven’t dropped more. But I feel a lot more confident in clothes and I think that this size suits my shoulder to hip and butt ratio well. There’s a part where I sort of lift up the skin on my boob so that my nipples are sitting higher, I wish they looked like that and I hope that at some point they do. I still feel like they haven’t filled out the lower pole very much. I went to a lingerie store called Soma and left with a 32G. But actually the cup feels a little bit snug, I really shouldn’t have bought anything because they still need to drop. I have two months to return it, maybe as they drop it will fit better Updated on 18 Dec 2021: I wish my areolas weren’t so big. I asked my doctor about it but she said with the size I was getting my areolas would probably fit it nicely. Maybe after they heal more they will look better but I’m not use to it. Updated on 22 Dec 2021: Still rounded up top, but I feel much more confident in clothes………………………………………………………. They’re getting a little softer every day. But still tightness and I can see where anchor stitches are pinning my skin down …………….. Updated on 27 Dec 2021: So I’m kinda ticked off. I sent an email to my surgeon with these two photos and I said this is what I have, and this is ha I wanted. I said please don’t sugar coat it, just tell me is this is what I can expect to have? She said my implants MAY still drop a little but I need to wear my band 24/7 for 3 weeks. I’ve been wearing my band, and sometimes I double wrap it with another band. When the band isn’t on I massage and rub them. But I haven’t been wearing my band 24/7, more like 10 hours a day for the past two weeks. Honestly how are the nipples going to jump up an inch? What I am most upset about is that I went to the most expensive doctor because I thought she has the skill to give me exactly what I want. No complication, no shady practices, etc. now I’ve spent so much I can’t afford a revision. I don’t feel like she listened to me and I stressed that I wanted a high nipple and full lower pole. I feel better about myself in clothes, but the point of this surge was to feel better naked. Updated on 11 Jan 2022: Wearing the band 24/7 has been painful, BUT I do feel better about my look. My muscles are still tight and fighting the drop. They are softening up. I do not wear a bra at all yet. If I need to go out I wear silicone pads over my nips, or if it’s cold o will keep my band on and wear a jacket. Updated on 19 Jan 2022: I thought I would post an update because I had a virtual consult with my doc. She said I no longer need to wear the band, and should start wearing a bra in the daytime, and a comfortable bra to sleep in that will offer minor support. She said I probably shouldn’t go braless until 6 months, which is funny because I have been completely braless this entire time. My outer boobs have become very very sore, I don’t know why, but the tenderness runs into my arms so I’m guessing the muscles are still stretching. I’m happier with the shape of my boobs, but really wish my areolas were smaller and my nipples themselves are long and stretched from nursing. When it’s time to replace my implants I’m going to get my nipples fixed. Updated on 23 Feb 2022: I got some silagen because areas of my scars are becoming raised and thick. So let’s watch the progress. Still sore, now doing home construction and demolition which I do a lot of myself, so it’s definitely working out my pecs. I emailed the doc about the hardness of my implants, and one of her nurses who had the same type reassured me that it takes time, and like me she took a while for her muscles to relax. Updated on 24 Feb 2022: Here is a frontal view at 3.5 months post op, I expect more dropping and softening. I will post a video where I jump at the end and yo can see they are still stiff and my belly fat bounces more then my boobs do :P Updated on 28 Feb 2022: My body is far from perfect, but I feel a lot better about it! No longer embarrassed when my man takes my top off :))) Now let’s just get these puppies a little softer Ocotillo lclxtoghlcl kxjtsjfxkgyykkxktog :) Updated on 5 Apr 2022: They are slowly dropping more and I am starting to get a crease in my underboob, which I like because it looks more natural. I don’t love the size of my areoles, but I think the scar gel is helping a little I have been doing A LOT of manual labor, and it’s very intense on my arms and chest, it has caused them to feel even firmer then before, but I’m still feeling good that they will soften up Updated on 12 Apr 2022: I got a bra off the bare necessities website. I entered in my measurements and went with their recommended size of 30H. The band feels a bit snug, but I don’t have any rolls and I’ve also never worn a proper underwire bra, so not sure how it’s suppose to feel. It’s not uncomfortable and they have a good return policy, so I’m going to try it out and see how it goes! It was like $70. I never spend money like that on a bra. Updated on 23 May 2022: So my scar gel has been all used up and am disappointed with the results. It’s expensive and doesn’t look like it did anything. My boobs jiggle and the implant moves freely in the pocket but the implant itself is still hard. It’s like squeezing a water balloon that is 75%sand. Updated on 5 Jan 2023: overall i am happy. I do wish that they were softer and were not so full at the top, they look very augmented...and i wanted a more natural look. But I would do it again because I am much more confident, which was the goal.
I have experienced weight gain and weight loss and pregnancy and breastfeeding and weight gain and weight loss, and needless to say my breasts were deflated. Even though I was still a D cup they were not happy or perky, so I decided I wanted to invest in a pick me up so to speak. I wanted to refill what I already had, and I didn’t want a ton of scarring from an anchor breast lift. Trying to find a doctor who would listen to what I wanted and not just say no this is what I want to do, or no you can’t do that, this is the only way. Dr. Bandy and her staff listened to what I wanted. She of course was realistic with me and told me honest answers like this may not be possible or if you do that, you won’t get this result, or this is the likely outcome, and of course she followed with a why/explanation. I personally loved that! Because at least I felt heard. I felt like my wants and desires were important. I didn’t feel like I was at a fast food restaurant. She didn’t make me feel bad for wanting saline so I could get the size I wanted/needed. Other doctors down talked saline and tried to say only the more expensive silicone were any good. Other doctors made me feel like my wants didn’t matter because it didn’t fit into their mold of what they wanted to do. Dr. Bandy was always supportive of my desired look and helping me achieve it. Her staff was always amazing! They were all Super friendly and very knowledgeable, and always happy to answer my questions, and never treated me like a burden. (Where other facilities made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them) Dr. Bandy and her staff were amazing! My surgery went great, my recovery went great, and I and my Husband are completely satisfied and happy with my results. I am not finished with my journey yet, I hope for more kids, and to lose more weight, so when I am done I will definitely be visiting Dr. Bandy and her staff again for a tummy tuck, and maybe a little more in the breasts. If you had bad experiences with consultations with other doctors, or have reservations or concerns. Dr. Bandy’s office is the place to go! (PS the office is beautiful and very clean and COVID compliant as well if that is of any concern )
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Bandy and her staff. I went to several consultations with other doctors for lipo and bbl and my decision came down to the quality of her work and the fact that I was not just a number. I appreciate the communication skills of Dr. Bandy and her staff. My questions were always answered in an efficient manner. They all made me feel at ease before and after my surgery. I'm so happy with my results and I'm only 2 1/2 months post op. I will definitely go back to Dr. Bandy if I decide to get additional surgical or non surgical procedures. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Bandy is a true artist. I am 6 months post-op face, neck lift and upper blepharoplasty. My neck is perfect and my incision lines have disappeared. I am thrilled with the results. I had minimal down time. Her staff is professional, helpful and caring. I trust Dr. Bandy 100%.
When I finished weaning my first baby I KNEW I needed a breast augmentation. My beautiful little boobs were completed deflated. After my second I thought I was prepared for the worst but they ended up MUCH worse still!! At 8 months post partum I started with the consultations and by my third consultation I knew I found the right doctor with Dr. Amy Bandy. Updated on 28 Jun 2021: The procedure went super smooth. I LOVE everyone at dr Bandy’s office, they are all so sweet and helpful. I felt 200% comfortable throughout the entire process from the initial consultation through recovery. I must say that recovery is MUCH harder than I expected. I thought I would be able to manage it much more gracefully but I’m literally feeling like such a baby ???? anyway, I’m now 4 days out and finally adjusting to the swelling and soreness. I cannot wait for these babies to start dropping. Updated on 30 Jun 2021: Updated on 19 Jul 2021: Still a little sore. Riding pretty high still. They’re much softer. My incisions are still bothering me but mostly unnoticeable unless I stretch the skin. The thing that’s bothering me most is my inability to lift/work out. I CANNOT WAIT to be cleared to work out. At least I have until next summer to get my bod back into peak bikini condition ???? Updated on 23 Jul 2021: I am the most impatient person ever. Updated on 17 Aug 2021: They look better every day. They already basically feel like a part of me and they’re getting softer. Yay! Updated on 17 Aug 2021: Updated on 14 Sep 2021: Updated on 24 Jan 2022: I love them more and more every day :)/ they still don't feel as soft as I'd like and maybe that will change over time but I'm ok with it especially knowing how I went big for my size. so grateful for Dr bandy. I think I'm going to try to get a mini tummy tuck next. LOVE MY BOOBS.
Hi there, Great question! I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Amy Bandy. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and Breast Augmentation Specialist. You are able to get a Breast Augmentation with Silicone implants at the age of 22. I recommend doing an in person consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your options in further detail! Good luck!
Thank you for your question! Based off your photos, you appear to be an excellent candidate for a breast augmentation. The style and placement of the implant should be chosen based off your desired results. To reduce the chance of seeing rippling, I would go with a more cohesive gel implant placed behind the muscle with incisions in your inframammary fold, but this is just a suggestion. There are a variety of different silicone gel implants to choose from that each have a different look and feel. If you desire a more ‘augmented’ look, saline implants may be a better option for you. When choosing the profile of the implant, many things need to be considered to get optimal results. Specifically, the volume of the implant needs to be considered, as well as the diameter of the persons breast, or breast width. The profile of a breast implant determines how far it will project forward from the chest. The level of projection achieved is determined by the width of the implant. In general, the smaller the base width of a breast implant, the farther it will project off the chest. If I had to take a guess, based on your breasts and your wish photos, you might be somewhere around the 450cc-500cc high profile implant range in order to achieve desired results. Hope this helps!
Hi there, Great question! I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Amy Bandy. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and Breast Augmentation Specialist. Because anticoagulants, NSAIDs, and certain herbs and supplements can increase your risk of bleeding with surgery, you will need to stop taking them before your procedure. You may start taking blood thinners again such as Naproxen 2-4 weeks after your surgical procedure. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your question and photos! Based on your photos, you are on the more slender side, that being said- you may not have enough fat for a fat transfer to your breasts. I recommend that you have an in person evaluation to see if you are a better candidate for breast enhancement with implants or fat transfer, good luck! I recommend that you consult with board certified plastic surgeons in your area to discuss your options. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
Thank you for your question and photos! You appear to be a good candidate for liposuction along with J-Plasma skin tightening! This will leave you with the least amount of scars and a much faster recovery than a brachioplasty (arm lift)! I recommend that you have an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area who offer J-Plasma or Renuvion. Best of luck to your on your journey!
