Could I achieve a more refined nose and better facial harmony with a 'tip plasty' alone? (Photo)

Certainly you can have rhinoplasty to work only on the tip. In the consultation this will all be discussed. It may enhance the overall result to work at least a little bit on the bridge as well. Computer imaging should be done during the consultation so you can see the difference between working on just the tip and working on the whole thing. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

Thank you for your question and for sharing your concerns. Based on your photos, the nasal bridge demonstrates a relatively wide keystone area with a small bump visible on the oblique view. This width contributes to the overall appearance of the bridge. When the nasal tip is narrowed through a tipplasty, the nasal bridge can appear proportionately wider in the midsection, leading to a less balanced aesthetic, both in the front and oblique views.

In your case, the characteristics of your skin would allow for a good degree of refinement in the nasal tip’s appearance. However, in my opinion, the overall result would be more natural and aesthetically pleasing if both the nasal tip and bridge were refined. Addressing both areas simultaneously would create a more harmonious balance, enhancing the proportions of your nose and maintaining a cohesive look from all angles.

Hi, It is better for you to consult with your facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and give you opinion based on examination. You have wide bridge and tip, and im not sure if side profile has a hump. addressing whole nose would be the best option.

If you are going to go through the procedure I'd address all concerns. It's hard to tell from the photos but in addition to the tip I'd suggest also narrowing the nose and fixing the small dorsal hump.

Certainly focusing surgery on the tip only is very possible. I would recommend having a consultation with a plastic surgeon focused on rhinoplasty to have your nose and face assessed in person with image morphing done to show you what it might look like with a tip only surgery.

Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty and have excellent facial features. I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Most plastic surgeons like to perform lip lift procedures at a separate time. Best wishes to you.

Yes, you can undergo tip plasty, if that is what you desire. From your photographs, your skin does not appear thick and your bulbous tip is not as severe as others I have seen.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Most patients must undergo a full rhinoplasty to ensure all of the components of the nose are balanced in the three-dimensional fashion. If you were to only do your tip plasty as a standalone procedure, it would make the hump on your nose appear bigger since the nasal tip cartilages are also a component of your dorsal profile. Thick skin in the tip of nose is going to prevent refinement in that area as well, so you may need steroid shots after the surgery to reduce swelling in that area. Seek out a rhinoplasty specialist for best results.
