Cold sore corner of lip day before rhinoplasty?

I was in Missouri over the weekend and the wind was cold 19 degrees . I just got back and noticed I maybe be getting a cold sore inner corner of my lip scheduled tomorrow morning . I called the doctors office and they said it was fine but now nervous . Should I be concerned?

In general, when people have a history of cold sores, they always recur in the same part of the lip. If you've had a cold sore in the area that you were concerned about now, you may wish to consider calling your doctor and asking for a prescription for valciclovir. Although I do not believe this would be mandatory, and I don't believe that a cold sore would affect your rhinoplasty results. If you have never had a cold sore in the location that you were concerned about, it may be just irritation from the cold. I hope this helps and I wish you a fun rhinoplasty, and an easy recovery.
