19 years old and want a tummy tuck, is that a smart idea?

I'm a 19 year old mother to a 17 month old child, and ever since I've given birth I've disliked my body more than ever, nothing is working for me, I just want to feel happy so is getting a tummy tuck a smart idea? I want to feel good about my body.

There is nothing wrong with having a tummy tuck at the age of 19.  You just have to be sure you don't plan on having any more children.  If you do get pregnant again after a tummy tuck, childbirth should not be an issue.  However, your abdominal contour will change again and you might need surgery again to regain your shape.

I am not put off by your age and desiring a tummy tuck. I am concerned that at 19 you may want more children or to have a larger family. I would wait into you complete your family plans before seriously considering a tummy tuck. Are you at your goal weight? You may be a candidate for liposuction alone, only after a proper exam and full consultation can this be determined. I recommend that you meet with a board certified plastic surgeon who performs liposuction and abdominoplasties to determine which operation will meet your needs.

If you plan to have more children, then a tummy tuck is ideally done after kids. If you have a TT and then fall pregnant the skin will stretch, scar will darken and you may be left with the same problems as before your TT.All the best

There are no hard and fast rules regarding the age when someone can get a tummy tuck. What is important though is to try to be finished with having children. If you were to have a tummy tuck and then decided to have children in the future everything would likely be fine with your pregnancy but you would more than likely need a repeat body contouring procedure to get you to a point that you would be happy again.

A tummy tuck certainly may be performed on a 19-year-old woman following skin changes after pregnancy.However he want to be done having children before having your tummy tuck.  If you have another pregnancy after your tummy tuck the results can be disturbed.
