Hi I had a labiaplasty that was unilateral and the hood skin was not removed which led to a disappointing result . Do I have to wait a certain amount of time to have a clitoral hood reduction if it is was not addressed during labiaplasty ?

Answer: Amount of time after a labiaplasty I have to wait before having a clitorial hood reduction? If you are only doing a clitoral hood reduction and not revising your labiaplasty, then I typically do not recommend any delay between procedures. There is no incision on your clitoral hood and therefore no need to wait. However, if you do intend on revising any part of your labiaplasty then waiting at least 4 to 6 months depending on how you are healing is appropriate and recommended.

Answer: Clitoral hood reduction and labia revision You do not need to wait if there are no recent incisions on your hood. Otherwise, you need to wait at least five months. Depending on your desires, the hood can be decreased somewhat by reducing the sides or the hood can be more aggressively reduced. I pioneered a clitoropexy with clitoral hood reduction in which the clitoris is pushed closer to the pubic bone and the width, thickness, length, and protuberance of the clitoral hood can be decreased. I have done this procedure over 300 times with excellent results. No matter the technique, an inexperienced or unskilled surgeon can lead to a high rate of complications, chronic scar discomfort, labial deformities, and further surgery.
