Just wrapped up my final appointment with the amazing Dr Pelosi Feeling fantastic, healthy, and thrilled with the results. Huge thanks to the entire team at Gpelosimedicalcenter - it's been a journey, but totally worth it! Thanks again, I'll be back
Dr Marci A. Pelosi lll is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions. It’s been 30days since my tummy tuck and I’m beyond excited with the results. if I had to do it all over again I would no hesitation. The staff is very friendly, helpful and processional . Thank you
I had a labial puff procedure with Dr.Pelosi this time last year and I love my results but even better was my experience with the doctor and clinic before and after my procedure. I feel like it was 100% worth the money and discomfort. My vagina is beautiful. I had one child six years prior to my procedure and I feel like I have my pre child birth look back. I opted not to get a full vaginaplasty unitl I’m done have children also you do lose a food amount of fat after the first three months and definitely have an awkward healing phase but don’t give up hope. I will be back for future touch ups in between time. I would fly to jersey to have him deliver any future kids because he is the only one I would trust with my V.
I wanted to write my full experience on here due to the fact that I chose Dr Pelosi III based on all the information and reviews that I read on Realself, and I will continue to update as my recovery goes on. I had my surgery done this past Tuesday, 10/11/2022, and I am 6 days post op today. I had a vaginoplasty, perineoplasty and pelvic floor reconstruction (large rectocele) My surgery took about 3 hours. I was under conscious sedation and don’t remember anything. I really don’t remember much even after surgery until about 6 hours after my surgery was over, and although everyone is different, please make sure you have someone with you that is “all in” to care for you if you decide to have this done. My friend was a godsend to me. I passed out twice after surgery and went to the emergency room on post op day two. My lab work was fine and my ECG was normal… so they gave me two bags of fluid and just chalked it up to vasovagal syncope and told me to rest. My blood pressure continues to drop EVERY TIME I try to stand up and I nearly pass out, so that has been the hardest part of recovery. I purchased a walker last night to help me around for my safety. Pelosi was great following up with me after surgery and when I was in the emergency room, making sure I was okay while also suggesting tests to rule out any major complications. According to him though, passing out is not at all a normal occurrence that his patients experience after this surgery, so please don’t let that part scare you away. And I have other significant stressors in my life right now in addition to this surgery that’s not helping my case. I still can’t stand up completely when walking and don’t make it too far without having to take a break, but everyday I’m getting a little better. I’ve had a very minimal amount of bleeding the last 6 days post op and very little discharge thus far, so the smell I have been forewarned about hasn’t hit yet. I haven’t assessed tightness or anything at this point, but even just visibly there’s a huge improvement. I can’t wait until the recovery period is over but I will continue to update as time goes on! As for Dr Pelosi III personally, he is very easy to talk to and is more than willing to ease your mind and answer any questions that you may have, even over the phone. I was an out-of-state patient, so I called into the office a few times to get questions answered and ease my mind prior to surgery. He is confident, not arrogant, and has great bedside manner. (And I say that as a registered nurse working beside many doctors throughout the last 7 years) Thanks Dr Pelosi for being a great surgeon and person. And I’m sure when I’m past this rough part of recovery, I will be even more thankful! :)
I am a mother of 4 natural births, and 41. I had a repair done by an expert in the field a few years ago, but was still left with vaginal laxity and a pointless sex life for my husband and I, and tampons that fell out. I felt horrible about myself. You hear all about viagra and mens sexual issues…but not much about or for women. I started my search because I didn’t want to spend my next 40 years with what I felt was a broken vagina. I read tons of reviews of Dr.Pelosi. Had a consult. Felt very comfortable. Booked my procedure. Dr Pelosi is easy to talk to, and pleasant (I have found that many surgeons lack in the personality department…lol as both a nurse in my professional life, and as someone who has had prior cosmetic procedures). They either have the personality of a rock, or are ego maniacs most of the time. Dr. Pelosi kills it in that department. He’s really a great guy, honest, justifiably confident, but very down to earth and a straight shooter; which I liked. He isn’t going to lie to you and promise you the moon and stars. He’s realistic and honest, along with skilled and talented. I came in from out of town and spent the night in a very nice hotel. I arrived for my procedure and everyone from the front desk, to the tech, were great. Anesthesia was also awesome. Just a great team. I was in, out, and it was over. Recovery wasn’t that bad. You will be sore for a week or two. Be forewarned, you won’t be getting narcotics after this. He uses a combo including gabapentin. He told me I would have no issues. I was TERRIFIED, and it was the first time I questioned his judgment…but….since I was trusting the man with my vagina, I figured I would put my “know it all nurse” to the side and keep trusting him. He was right. I didn’t need narcotics. I was fine with what he prescribed. Would it have been easier with them? Yes. Will you be fine without them. Yes. I am a baby. I don’t like pain or discomfort. I want to sleep at night post surgery. But I was ok, and you will be as well. I followed all after care instructions to a T. This was my second vaginal surgery and I wasn’t putting any of it in jeopardy. I tried my first tampon this week. It did not fall out! (I ended up using pads because my new vagina wasn’t happy with the tampon just yet…but it didn’t fall out.) THAT is what I needed! Mission accomplished. When I am ready for tampons again, they are going to stay put and not end up in the toilet during bowel movements (I think) WIN. Sex. I just had sex for the first time after 8 weeks (my stitches were healed at 6, but again, this was my second surgery and I wasn’t putting ANYTHING in there to jeopardize it!) We went super super slow. I just wanted to see if I could A) have sex again yet. B) I was super excited to see if my laxity issue was gone/improved. My husband does not really feel a difference. He’s not super well endowed…and would never have complained before my surgery, so no opinion from him one way or the other. I was hoping he would notice a difference, but he didn’t. Thankfully I did it for me, and not him ;p Sex for me. I do notice a difference. Not a huge difference, but enough to take note. I had four natural births…which I am sure left Dr. Pelosi with not a whole lot of great muscle to repair/work with. Add arousal to the mix, (lubrication was never an issue of mine) and well…not a huge difference there during sex. A bit sore after it. Wait the full 8 weeks even if your stitches are healed, and GO SLOW! I’ll probably wait another week or two before I give it another go. (Yes, I am babying my new vagina) Do I wish my vagina was back to it’s pre-baby days? Yes. But you have to be realistic, you aren’t 21 anymore. The goal is improvement, not perfection. I believe my tampon is going to stay in, I feel a little tighter during sex, and I will gladly take some improvement over where I was before. Dr. Pelosi knows his stuff. Trust him. He’s great to work with, and will tell it like it is. He never promised me my pre baby vagina back, and explained that sometimes you don’t have a lot to work with. Improvement, not perfection. I did this for me. If you feel broken and bad about vaginal laxity post child birth, do it for you. I wish I had gone to Dr. Pelosi the first time…don’t make that mistake! Women deserve sexual satisfaction and vaginal function, just as much as men do with their sexual health and function. We just don’t talk about it as an issue, but it sure is one! Would I have it done again? Sure would. My only regret is not using Dr. Pelosi the first time. Would I return for other cosmetic procedures? Sure would. He is a skilled and honest surgeon. Rare combo. (Bonus points for his tech being adorable and a great experience in the clinic)
Chose Dr. Pelosi due to his expertise and my location. I probably read all the reviews and QAs in realself before deciding on him. He knows his stuff. I did mine under local. The entire recovery was rough. I had hemmorrhoids and the surgery area is just really a hard location to take care of. I honestly thought my surgery will fail because i came back to work 2 days after and never stopped working since. I think I was in solid pain for 2 weeks and so much discomfort until my 6th week. Fast forward 10 weeks- glad I decided to do it. Eventhough recovery was very limiting and stressful, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Been having sex for 3 weeks now and oh it is very tight. I hope I maintain my results. Surgery is 10000 % worth it for me. Thank u.
Really great experience I cannot believe I waited this long to change my (V) . I got a fat transfer to my labia majora and she looks AMAZING. I can probably ride a bike comfortably. I thought what I needed growing up was a labiaplasty but once I puffed up the sides it now covers my very sensitive lips and everything just feels better now including sex . Cushion for the pushin is a thing my fellow skinnies . I’m 5”8 120 pounds body fat is at 14% so I’m very skinny and there was just never enough fat there. Dr.Pelosi was not in any rush which a lot of doctors are and treat you like a number. We sat and chatted for 30 minutes before the procedure in which he explained everything and answered all of my questions. Will be coming for a booster at some point next year but enjoying everything for now! Will update with a last photo
I've just reached my 6-week post-surgery mark for a combined trim labiaplasty with clitoral hood contouring, performed under local anesthetic. I'm very happy with my result, even as a few bits of swelling continue to go down and some sutures remain. Dr. Pelosi has obvious skill and an eye for aesthetic balance and achieving a natural look. His suture work is fantastic--absolutely no bulging/"baseball" stitching, and my edges have healed beautifully. Honestly I even found it a bit challenging at times to figure out where the suture lines were, because all the stitching was subdermal. I'd say that my before anatomy was....pretty complex. Real end-of-the-bell-curve as far as the distribution of normal anatomy. Definitely not a super simple trim; there was a lot of skin, especially coming off of/entwined with the hood. My after results look very natural, are proportionate, and I have no loss of sensation or nerve pain. There's also enough tissue to maintain the functional role of the labia minora, something I've seen be completely disregarded in images of botched procedures. My recovery was pretty smooth--no bleeding (some spotting, but no active bleeding), no major pain, no infections, no itchiness, and even the swelling at its max seemed fairly mild, compared to some other recovery images I've seen. Really, everything from my initial consult to my six-week appointment has been pretty smooth. All of the staff at the office are very kind and respectful, I never felt uncomfortable or shamed or judged. Scheduling was easy and I was able to go from phone consult to surgery within about 3 weeks. The cost was also very transparent, reasonable, and competitive, especially for such high-level skill and in the tri-state area! I'd been gathering quotes for labiaplasty from offices in and around NJ and NY and was getting quotes literally 1.5-2x as much as I paid with Dr Pelosi. My surgery day didn't feel rushed and I felt comfortable communicating before and throughout the surgery. There were some moments of pretty severe pain during the procedure, but that's because my body apparently needed wayyyy more anesthetic than is standard--and once that kicked in it was mainly just weird sensations. During recovery, Dr Pelosi had given me his personal number and I was free to text any questions, including sending images. My only negatives--that aren't really even negatives--are that I didn't get pre-op instructions until the day of. But, I'd already done my own research so I was prepared with everything I needed, above and beyond the few things mentioned on my instructions sheet. I also still have some areas of minor nit-picking cosmetic concern, but Dr Pelosi offers revisions and I feel very confident in going to him for that revision--if it's something that I find still bothers me when the healing is fully done. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Pelosi for this procedure. I know it sounds dramatic but this has been truly life-changing and something I've wanted to have done for many years. I no longer feel physical or psychological discomfort/pain/anguish due to my anatomy. I'm so glad I found Dr. Pelosi and was able to have such a successful result for a procedure that is unfortunately often botched by less-experienced surgeons. Even if you need to travel, going to Dr. Pelosi is definitely worth it.
I can't seem to find a vaginoplasty review that follows through until fully recovered so if anyone is interested I'll share my experience. I am 28 years old, 2 vaginal birthday. Suffered from gaping vagina and loss of friction during sex. I wish I took a pre-op picture but I will update picture during my healing process. I am currently 7 days post op. My surgery was with Dr. Pelosi in NJ. Small rectocele repair, IV sedation. Went 1 finger. It's been painful but manageable with the prescribed pain meds. Overall uncomfortable feeling. Sitting and standing especially. Thank goodness for stool softeners. Using the bathroom was a nightmare once the catheter came out. Still raw and stitched up. Updated on 21 Jun 2021: I’m about 11 days post op now. Zero pain, off all pain medication both prescribe and OTC. I’m still taking the stool softener because I don’t want to cause an easily avoidable issue. When I am showering I feel the exterior stitches, it’s sensitive but no pain there either. No pain on sitting or standing. I don’t even use my donut pillow while driving anymore. I am on my mensural right on schedule so just paying extra close attention on hygiene. Overall days 1-7 were the most painful now it is smooth sailing until recovery. 8 week appointment on Aug-3. Will update then unless there is anything else significant that pops up during recover before then. Updated on 12 Jul 2021: I am at the halfway mark of my 8 week recovery. I am sore and tender sometimes but I have also been testing my abilities on my Peloton and light weights. I will taper down until my recover is further along. Dr Pelosi informed me that the discharge will have a strong smell during recover and he was not kidding. It’s terrible and embarrassing. Thank goodness for the sex restriction anyway. Appearance wise I keep telling myself to trust the process, healing scars are ugly. I gently feel inside. I feel a little bump of skin (like a raised area) otherwise no issues. Fingers crossed all heals well. Picture is from today, this is a spitting suture. Otherwise all looks/feels well. Updated on 14 Aug 2021: My recovery is now complete. Had my final post op with Dr. Pelosi. Everything has healed beautifully and I am very happy. Sex is great and I believe this was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. I recommend Dr Pelosi 10000000%
Dr Pelosi III was such a pleasure, highly recommend him! Wonderfully detailed explanations and seemingly still passionate about his work. I am very happy with the results of the surgery. Prior to it, there were many sex positions where I could barely feel my husband. Now its all tingly and wonderful again. My expectations may have been a bit high. I really hoped to have my pre kids vag back. But it's not. It's just...Different. And I think that's because I no longer have all that hymen and my muscles were weakened/destroyed. 4 vag births (2 large babies 9/10lbs) with one which was literally pushed out by the midwife (husband said thats when things started really feeling different). Pre surgery I could easily fit 5 fingers flat. Now I can do 3 (I had been hoping for more like 2 but I guess that's just arbitrary vs sensations) physical therapy didn't help me. Nor did kegel contraptions. But this did. And I'm so grateful to be able to have it done. Sex was painful for probably 12 weeks. But now it is back to normal and wonderful. Just a small change for the most part...But I adore being able do all positions and feel something again. I focus on how much better sex is now...And I'm happy!
If you agreed on a specific scope of work and it wasn't completed, it needs to be completed. Lipo of the flanks is straightforward in experienced hands regardless of the type of anesthesia and yes, it's obvious that there is residual fat.
Reading about techniques isn't the same thing as researching the skill of your surgeon. You can get botched with either a trim or a wedge if your surgeon lacks training, skill, or experience in labiaplasty regardless of whether they are expert in other procedures. An unwanted Barbie is nothing more than a botched trim labiaplasty by a surgeon who was listening to what you wanted. An expertly done trim labiaplasty looks natural. A poorly done wedge doesn't look natural a frequently gives a weird two-tone appearance. You can request whatever you like, but if you want to look natural, seek out a surgeon whose portfolio demonstrates natural looking results for women who started out with labia similar to yours.
The skin is too loose to get a good result with lipo and J plasma alone. The skin will sag and wrinkle. You need a tummy tuck if you want an aesthetic result. I use J plasma frequently in my surgeries, but I wouldn't recommend it for you.
Unfortunately, it's surgery or nothing. You can waste your time and money or you can read on. Vaginal laxity happens when you sustain damage to the vaginal muscles internally and externally during childbirth. This damage causes a permanent widening of the gap between the muscles (the levator hiatus). However, this is not the only damage that you sustain during childbirth. You also sustain damage to the support structures of the vaginal walls and this damage usually loosens the posterior vaginal wall beneath the muscles (rectocele) contributing to the laxity, and frequently to the anterior vaginal wall (cystocele). Incontinence is a consequence of the latter. With the exception of incontnence, none of these issues can be fixed nonsurgically and none of the nonsurgical treatments with lasers, radiofrequency, or magnetic chairs will work in this setting. It's not what they're capable of doing.
Fillers are unlikely to work to restore the size of overresected labia minora. If you post photos, or reach out via virtual consultation, you can received meaningful advice regarding your management options.
