I've noticed that I had a larger clitorous, or labia, around the age of 11 and its honestly huge. I have had a boyfriend for many years so I have had sex a lot, bur that shouldn't effect that, right? I also notice I can orgasm very easily from just rubbing it, I believe I have more nerves than the " average". Is there a reason it's so much larger than normal? Is there anything out there that can help me?
Answer: Clitoris not enlarged Thanks for the questionIt looks more like you have extrra clitoral hood skin and labial skin than an enlarged clitoris.Surgery can address this if it is an issue for you but it isnt soemthing that has to be done. If you are having a fulfilled realtionship sexually and dont have concerns about the way it looks then you dont have to have surgery. The anatomy of this area differs in many people and just because it is different does not mean you need surgery to make it look 'normal!' Normal is essentially what you have - now if your normal is something that you do not like then surgery can possibly address this with reduction of the redundant skin. Non-surgical tightening with lasers can also be helpful here.I hope this is of helpBW

Answer: Does my vaginal area look huge? Hello, based on your photos your labia minora and clitoral hood are larger than average, although certainly within the range of normal. I do not specifically see a particularly large clitoris, and the fact that you orgasm easily does not sound like a negative thing. However, if the excess labia and clitoral hood tissue bothers you and you think about it often, it may be worth exploring your options by seeing a plastic surgeon experienced in labiaplasty and clitoral hood reduction.

Answer: Embarrassment over robust clitoral hood and labial size: What to do?? Hello "Amber,"You look very normal to me (granted, your clitoral hood and labia are quite "robust" in size...) but- if it does not "BOTHER" you, why bother it?!If however it does bother you either functionally (chafing, difficult hygiene, inability to wear thong underwear, etc) or visually and/or bothers your self-esteem, then a labiaplasty procedure with reduction of clitoral hood might be just what you are seeking.VERY BIG WARNING however. I, and many other very experienced and specialized female genital plastic/cosmetic surgeons have seen so many women horribly botched and mutilated when they had their surgery performed by their "general everyday gynecologist..." or other surgeon unskilled in the "fineries" of this so-delicate procedure. MY suggestion: go online and "Google" labiaplasty and look around in your state and surrounding states., Make sure your surgeon SPECIALIZES in labiaplasty and hood reduction and can PROVE their extensive experience by at least DOZENS of "before and after" photos on their site. This is not a time to "save a few bucks" or "have it done under insurance," as that exactly is where all of the "botched outcomes" come from.Very best wishes,Michael P Goodman, MDDavis, CA (near Sacramento), USA

Answer: Enlarged labia minora and clitoral hood Dear AmberEvans:It is true that you do not appear to have an enlarged clitoris but instead protruding labia minora and excess prepuce. If this bothers you then the surgical choice for you would be labiaplasty and lateral prepuce reduction. Please be careful when choosing a surgeon. Choose a surgeon who has a vast amount of experience, expertise, a great reputation and one who can achieve aesthetic results. Far to often on this website ( every week) there is more than one patient who writes in and complains about the results of their labiaplasty. These patients often need a 2nd and sometimes a 3rd surgery and some unfortunately cant have their surgeries revised as the first surgeon removed too much tissue. So please be careful when considering a surgeon and dont let location and higher costs deter you.John R Miklos MDAtlanta ~ Beverly Hills ~ Dubai

Answer: Enlarged labia and hood tissue the enlargement is likely from your labia and hood tissue, and not the clitoris itself, which may be normal sized. A labiaplasty with hood reduction, as shown above, is the best way to rid yourself of self-consciousness and insecurity in my experience. the "reason" is just bad luck with your genetics. I am certain that there are other women in your family who have this same issue and that they too have been dealing with it since puberty. Best to find an expert and have a consultation. you'll feel much better!
