There are a couple of things that could be effecting the duration of your botox treatment. There are not studies, to my knowledge, that have shown stimulants to effect the length of botox effects, nor are there any reported interactions on any of the drug references. It is recommended to refrain from exercise for 24 hours after receiving botox. Increased blood flow through the body can cause the botox molecule to be washed away and metabolized before it has a change to bind to the intended receptor. Pressure from wiping sweat away during exercise can cause the botox to migrate away from the intended site as well. There has been an increasing number of reports of botox not being as effective recently. Due to the protein molecule attached to the end of the active molecule your body can develop antibodies to Botox. Studies have been done that have shown people can develop antibodies to botox. If this is the case you can ask your provider(s) to use a different brand botox, such as xeomin or dysport. Dysport has a different protein attached to the active molecule so your body may not react to it as it does the name brand botox product. Xeomin is a "naked" botox molecule, meaning that it does not have an attached protein, so if you do have antibodies they will not react with the Xeomin botox molecule.
Yes, the plasma pen can be used to treat hooded eyelids. You can see results after one treatment, if the loose skin is severe then it may take multiple treatments. You can see a small change on the day of procedure but it will take 8-12 weeks to see the full results from your treatment. I would not trust a non-medical professional or device to perform this procedure. You are breaking the skin & essentially burning the top layers so there is a risk of infection, if the procedure is not done with a sterile tip or proper precautions are not followed, you are greatly increasing those risks...not worth it especially when dealing with the eyelid. This treatment also carries the risk of scaring and skin pigment changes so it is best to be under the care of a trained medical professional for this procedure to avoid these adverse events.
