I recently visited Dr. Mowlds for consultation for long-standing acne scars and wrinkles of my face and could not be happier with my experience and treatment outcome!! I was referred to Dr. Mowlds by a friend who had nothing but glowing reviews for him. He patiently listened to my concerns and goals, then explained all treatment options. I scheduled a laser treatment and also had filler/botox which have transformed my skin/face!!! I was impressed with the professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail both he and his office staff demonstrated at each visit!! I will definitely be returning to Dr. Mowlds from now on....and will likely be scheduling a breast augmentation with him in the near future!!
This area (often referred to as the “banana roll”) can absolutely be improved with liposuction. As you can see, the deformity often extends from the inner to outer thigh, areas that also need to be addressed in order to achieve an optimal contour. Care must be exercised in this location, however, since disrupting the natural gluteal crease during liposuction can have disastrous effects on overall buttock shape and definition. I hope this helps! Donald S Mowlds, MD
Non-invasive fat removal devices are increasing number and popularity, promising patients easily attainable results with no downtime. However, the expense for treating large areas, the delay in result appearance and the frequent need for multiple treatments are notable downsides. The amount of fat that you are hoping to remove will likely exceed the capabilities of a non-invasive device. In general, these devices work by destroying fat cells, the byproducts of which are then removed by the body. The amount of fat that is affected is somewhat unpredictable, hence the need for multiple treatments spaced several months apart. The customization and predictability that liposuction/liposculpture affords is unrivaled. Traditional liposuction can directly remove the fat cells, producing an immediate result from a single procedure. Post-operative compression is absolutely essential to achieving the best possible end result. I tell my patients to wear their compression garment for a minimum of 4 weeks and longer as tolerated. Patience is key to appreciating the final outcome as it takes weeks for the swelling to resolve and reveal the final contour. Good luck and I hope this helps! Donald S Mowlds, MD
In order to give you a better idea of the recovery timeline, it would help to know what areas of the body you are looking to have treated. Discomfort following liposuction is common and typically correlates with the amount of fat removed. For instance, an individual who undergoes removal of a small amount of fat from the chin and neck can be expected to have a shorter, less painful recovery than someone who had liposuction of the entire trunk. However, every patient has a unique healing timeline and you should select a surgeon that can guide you through this process. The soreness should gradually resolve within 3-5 days, however in some patients may persist, as sensory nerves remain inflamed from the liposuction procedure. Patients generally feel well enough to return to desk duties and resume their normal activities within a week following surgery. Post-operative compression is absolutely essential to achieving the best possible end result. A space is created between the underlying muscles and the skin as a result of the fat removal. This space can fill with fluid and create long-lasting swelling, disrupting the result. I tell my patients to wear their compression garment for a minimum of 4 weeks and longer as tolerated. Returning to strenuous exercise or activity too early can increase the fluid generated within this space and prolong the attainment of the end result. Patience is key to appreciating the final outcome as it rarely becomes apparent before 6 weeks. Good luck and I hope this hel Donald S Mowlds, MD

A crescent lift is attractive to many patients because it promises minimal scarring disguised within the top portion of the areola. This technique, however, is typically reserved for correcting minor asymmetries in nipple position. In your case, a breast implant will be useful in restoring a youthful appearance to the upper portion of your breast. A mastopexy, or breast lift, procedure will help centralize your breast tissue and nipple over the implant to give you an aesthetically pleasing shape. An additional benefit is a reduction in areola size, which will help with concealment within clothing. I recommend finding a plastic surgeon with which you can discuss the various lift procedures and decide on the one that is best for you. It is important to remember that a scar is the price paid for achieving a better breast shape. DSM
