I'm 6 weeks post op and my breast are uneven. Will I need another surgery? (Photo)

Sorry to disagree, you were neatly and clearly assymetrical preoperarively, not a slight assimetry... it was a remarkable one, this happens very commonly to 80% of patients undergoing breast surgery, and the other 20% have moderate to slight assimetry, since nobody is symetrical.Hoever, you are right that your right breast is too high, unlike the left one which settles perfectly centric to the nipple; this may be an acute onset of capsular contracture, in need of massaging systematically, supervised by your surgeon, asap and applied several times per day, every day. With massaging 70% of capsular contractures are solved, and the rest need surgey at 6-8 months after massaging has been quitted.Do seek your surgeon's opinion asap.

Thank you for your question and photos.  It is difficult to assess your pre-op photo, but your post op does demonstrate an asymmetry with your right implant sitting a bit high.  This may still fall over time.  I tell my patients to hold tight for a minimum of 3-4 months prior to any revision surgery as the implant can still settle a bit.  If it doesn't, then a small revision will be necessary on the right to help the implant settle lower.

From your photo it appears your one breast implant has not dropped and settled yet compared to the other. I would recommend giving it time. At times it can take up to 3 months. Continue to follow up with your plastic surgeon. 

Thank you for your pictures.  I would recommend a revision.  You have some asymmetry prior to surgery.  You need a thorough examination before proceeding.

I agree that there is significant swelling in the right breast upper pole compared to the left.  However, 6 weeks is still very early to evaluate the final outcome.  Give it more time and communicate with your surgeon.  Good luck and be safe.John T. Your breast asymmetry is greater than I would expect for 6 weeks. The reasons are unclear to me. One breast looks more swollen.  You need a physical exam to help determine the reasons for asymmetry: implant positioning, fluid around and implant, or other possibilities  Both breasts look fine for 6 weeks: they are just substantially different.

Your right side looks as if the implant is still a little high. It can still drop. You should be using a bandeau (an elastic band that goes across the top of your chest) and doing massages 3-4 times per day to encourage the necessary tissue relaxation. Thank you for the question and photos.  There seems to be a slight asymmetry with your breasts.  It would usually take around 8-12 weeks for the wounds to heal and the implants to settle in well.  You should just wait it out for a few more weeks.  If the situation doesn't get better, it would be best to visit your board-certified plastic surgeon.  Best of luck. You do have a lot of asymmetry after surgery. It might be worthwhile to have your doctor evaluate you to make sure that one does not have a collection.  It may just be swelling.

There is clearly residual swelling in the right upper pole of you breast.  The pectoralis muscle can be seen here so this will obscure the final results. Let the swelling resolve completely. Give another 4-6 weeks.
