I broke my nose when i was around 10 and the ENT told my parents that i had to wait until i got older to get it fixed. One more question is it common for people to get rhinoplasty for broken nose just like mine. What procedure are they gonna us to fix it, cause its really flat and out of place, like u can tell by looking at it that i broke it real bad.
Answer: Rhinoplasty for nasal fracture When the nose is crooked and patients would like it straightened, there is no medical necessity to have this paid for by medical insurance company. A crooked nose is usually paid for by the patient and is considered cosmetic.

Answer: Nose fracture rhinoplasty is difficult to know exactly what you mean by a nose fracture rhinoplasty. If you asking if the insurance covers setting a broken nose, the answer it is generally yes. If however, for asking they offer cosmetic rhinoplasty is, the answer is generally no. The middle case however is much more difficult, and those are the patients who had a broken nose some time ago, and now have a deformity. They need a rhinoplasty to fix it because he cannot simply set the bone anymore at that point. Some insurance companies will cover these late cranioplasties but frankly, and unfortunately, most of them do not.

Answer: Rhinoplasty and Insurance Dear KoolKid101,Generally, insurance pays for nasal surgery when there is a breathing disorder. In addition, it will typically cover surgery after nasal trauma when the nose is broken, displaced (move into an abnormal anatomic position), causes an airway obstruction or a psychological issue. If an ENT doctor told your parents that you would likely need surgery (safe after you complete puberty), then your insurance will likely cover it. The way to be sure is to 1. have a consultation with a facial plastic surgeon trained in ear, nose and throat medicine and surgery: 2. have photos taken for documentation; and 3. have the surgeon request preauthorization from your insurer.I hope this helps!Best of luck,Dr. Michelle Yagoda
