Hi! I have a fat under the chin and it gets large when I try to gain weight. Kybella is 1200$ per session and I might have 3 sessions and lipo is only 1250$. Which is the best option? Will I have scar after liposuction? Will I have hanging skin after lipo?
Answer: Kybella or liposuction? Thank you for your question! This is a common question for patients who are trying to treat that stubborn double chin area. Kybella is a great non-surgical option for smaller amounts of fat under the chin. However, if you're looking to address a larger amount of fat, submental liposuction is preferable. If you're ok with the surgical option, that often leaves little to no scarring, I would encourage you to go with that. There is often minimal, to no scarring. Make sure that you go with an experienced surgeon who can give you the best result possible. We wish you the best!

Answer: Neck Sagging/Fat - VASERlipo, FaceTite/AccuTite, Morpheus8/Fractora, Neck Lift/Platysmaplasty; Kybella, Thermage, Ultherapy For a double chin, InMode FaceTite with VASERlipo would give you the best result. With significant neck sagging you would need a facelift / neck lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). At the same time, I would recommend lasers (Fraxel, CO2, or Erbium) and microneedling RF (Fractora, Morpheus8, Intensif) to improve the crepey skin and wrinkles. Overall, the neck can be treated with a combination approach: 1. Microneedling and laser treatments for texture 2. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Jeuveau to help platysmal bands 3. Intensif, Fractora, or Morpheus8 microneedling RF for crepey skin and lifting 4. Injectable fillers like Belotero, Restylane Silk, and Juvederm Volbella to improve lines and folds 5. Face/neck lifting if sagging is prominent or premature, with or without platysmaplasty (muscle tightening) 6. Renuvion (J-Plasma), ThermiRF, and InMode FaceTite/AccuTite for internal tightening 7. Ultherapy and Thermage for external tightening 8. Regular Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, or InMode Forma treatments with facials to maintain tightness 9. PDO NovaThreads or Silhouette InstaLift cone threads for lifting and long-term collagen production See an expert for a formal evaluation and to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual situation and goals. Answer: There is no question that chin liposuction is a much more predictable and reliable method of improving the contour. Kybella is a dog of a treatment in my opinion. It is an option for those who simple refuse to consider surgery. However, the results are not very impressive and the service is uncomfortable. The price you are being quoted for neck liposuction is very low. Make sure you are seeing an ethical cosmetic surgeon without any State Board licensing issues.

Answer: Kybella or liposuction Dear sk22561, Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella. Answer: Kybella vs Liposuction This is a very common question. The answer will depend on the amount of fat currently in your neck. (Photos are helpful.) If the amount is significant, there is a chance that you will have resulting skin laxity, especially with liposuction. The effect of Kybella will be more minimal in both fat decrease and skin laxity creation. We perform neck liposuction through needle holes (like a 16G syringe hole) to prevent scarring. Be sure to find a fully-trained plastic surgeon to do your liposuction procedure, if you go that route.
