I'm trying to decide if Kybella would address some of my issues or if having a procedure would be my best route. My platysmal bands aren't always obvious when my face is resting, but always show when I smile larger. Also, my side profile shows about 1/2" sagging under the chin (not very obvious head on, but definitely from the side).
Answer: Neck Sagging/Fat - VASERlipo, FaceTite/AccuTite, Morpheus8/Fractora, Neck Lift/Platysmaplasty; Kybella, Thermage, Ultherapy For a double chin, InMode FaceTite with VASERlipo would give you the best result. With significant neck sagging you would need a facelift / neck lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). At the same time, I would recommend lasers (Fraxel, CO2, or Erbium) and microneedling RF (Fractora, Morpheus8, Intensif) to improve the crepey skin and wrinkles. Overall, the neck can be treated with a combination approach: 1. Microneedling and laser treatments for texture 2. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Jeuveau to help platysmal bands 3. Intensif, Fractora, or Morpheus8 microneedling RF for crepey skin and lifting 4. Injectable fillers like Belotero, Restylane Silk, and Juvederm Volbella to improve lines and folds 5. Face/neck lifting if sagging is prominent or premature, with or without platysmaplasty (muscle tightening) 6. Renuvion (J-Plasma), ThermiRF, and InMode FaceTite/AccuTite for internal tightening 7. Ultherapy and Thermage for external tightening 8. Regular Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, or InMode Forma treatments with facials to maintain tightness 9. PDO NovaThreads or Silhouette InstaLift cone threads for lifting and long-term collagen production See an expert for a formal evaluation and to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual situation and goals. Answer: Platysmal bands concerns? I would recommend for you to have a consultation in person to better understand your condition of area of concern. You would have an option of Kybella and/or coolsculpt depending on how much tissue there is and your desire result. Once there is less tissue you will have more laxity so best to have a skin tightening treatment like Profound (which stimulates collagen, elasticity and hyaluronic acid) or Ultherapy (which stimulates collagen and elasticity). Good luck!

Answer: Concerns of platysmal bands any type of fat removal will most likely make the platysmal bands more visible carried some patients after liposuction realize they had platysmal bands that were not visible when covered by a layer of fat.Treatment options for platysmal bands include Botox or platysma plasty or facelift surgery. With that photograph we can’t get you an assessment. I suggest meeting with a few board-certified plastic surgeons for in person consultations.Be careful with any fat removal procedure. I would simply avoid Kybella Regardless.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
