I have a mild case of double chin that I would like to treat. I have already had one plastic surgeon say that he thought I "would only need 1 treatment of Kybella/Belkyra" (though I am not sure what volume exactly he would use), but it's quite expensive. CoolSculpting is another option and 1 treatment is almost half the price. My questions is, even though I might need more than 1, would 1 treatment of CoolSculpting or 1 treatment of Kybella be more effective at reducing my submental fat?
Answer: Kybella for Chin Fat Reduction - add Thermage, Ultherapy, Exilis vs. VASER Hi-Def Neck Liposuction w/ InMode FaceTite/AccuTite It takes a series of treatments to get good results with Kybella. Keep in mind, Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. I recommend a combination approach with Thermage, Ultherapy, and Exilis. InMode FaceTite / AccuTite with VASER Neck Liposuction is the best option for contouring and tightening the chin, neck, and jawline area. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Kybella versus CoolSculpting for fat under chin I would say that liposuction is the best method of removing fat under the chin and this can be done in one treatment session. Kybella could be used, but I have never seen only one treatment be enough for anyone. CoolSculpting can also help with fat under the chin, but this also usually requires more than one treatment session to obtain the desired result. In my experience, the cost of liposuction is frequently less than the cost of Kybella or CoolSculpting when treating fat under the chin.

Answer: Kybella Kybella & CoolSculpting will suffice. If you can fit the CoolSculpting applicator then you can do the CoolSculpting. More pictures are needed to assess what fillers will be helpful to you. Consult a trusted practitioner to know in full.

Answer: Coolsculpting will likely be the best as a non-invasive option Both Kybella and Coolsculpting offer non-invasive options for "submental fullness." Both can be effective. I think that you will require 2 cycles with the cool-mini applicator- which typically costs around $1800 vs about 6 vials of kybella which runs about $3600. The discomfort with coolsculpting will be less ( mild numbness for 10-12 weeks), compared to kybella (acute swelling, pain). There is no correct answer, but coolsculpting would be where I would steer you towards.

Answer: Chin Hello there, It is difficult to assess your ability to use Coolsculpting with the photos included. Coolmini is limited in that it can only be used on patients with a certain jaw width (the machine has to fully suction the tissue and can only do so when there is full contact with the tissue and the applicator). That being said, you have very minimal volume in the area of concern. I would typically recommend a combination of fat destruction and skin tightening for this area, as for most patients the concern is a result of both issues. I would recommend a few treatments of Kybella (depending on the result after each treatment), followed by either Exilis Ultra, Ultherapy, or Zaffiro to stimulate deep collagen. Hope this helps.
