Deep Plane Facelift - is IV sedation for 4 - 5 hours safe?

I am 72 year old female, 5 ft. 3, 120 lbs. I am concerned about being under IV sedation for 4-5 hours as opposed to 2 hours for the deep plane. Can a deep plane including the neck and under eye bleph be done in 2 hours? Have there been a lot of complications with people being under sedation that long? What is the alternative? Local sedation?
