I am trying to decide whether to go with the fleur de lys or a belt lipectomy for my lower body lift. Hoping to address: 1) getting rid of my "inner tube" 2) bring in my waist for an hourglass figure 3) minimize loose skin around my bra line. Vertical scar aside, I want to make sure I get the results I want. Initially, I wanted to go with the scar around my bikini area but I don't know if I'll get the waist contour that I want, as I have laxity both horizontally and vertically, front and back.

Answer: Should I get a Fleur de Lis or a belt lipectomy? Based on your photos - you may need both. At your physical exam- the excess skin above your buttocks on your back will help determine whether or not the belt excision would be beneficial. You may need a vertical component which will require pre-operative consent because this final decision may be only determinable while you're asleep during surgery. So as stated, you may need both if you desire your best outcome . I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS with extensive in post Bariatric reconstruction

Answer: Body contouring surgery Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, I recommend a belt lipectomy instead of a fleur de lis. This can avoid the vertical scar of a fleur de lis and still give you a contoured hourglass shape. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G.
