I am a 23-year-old female with an average height of 5'2". I am considering Rhinoplasty but have reservations about the success of the procedure in terms of what I want. Is it possible to change my bulbous nose tip and convert into the kind shown in the 2nd photo?
Answer: Can a bulbous tip be made thinner? Can a bulbous tip be made thinner? There are many variations to nasal tip plasty which make a bulbous tip thinner. Some refinement and thinning of the tip is part of the majority of routine rhinoplasties performed. Just how thin the tip will get will depend on how thick the skin is. If the skin is very thick a thinner but not “pointy“ tip will result. It is not necessarily true that the “pointier” the tip is the better. In many cases a thinner though not quite “pointy” tip is preferable.

Answer: Closed Atraumatic Rhinoplasty Dear Capricorno, Thanks for your question. You may get your nose slimmer and your bulbous tip more defined than it is now with Closed Atraumatic Rhinoplasty without cutting the tip of your nose. Since you have a thicker skin it will be reduced as much as your tissues will allow that to do. Some skin preparation before surgery is requred. You may see numerous before and after pictures in the link below.

Answer: Yes! Your expectations are reasonable. In order to get your nose from where it is to where you want it to be, you are going to need a rhinoplasty with a trimming of the cartilages of the nose tip and suturing them in a way that creates a more refined tip. You may also need the nostrils to be trimmed because when the tip is refined, the nostrils may flare out a little bit. This surgery can be done in 2-3 hours as part of a general surgical rhinoplasty.

Answer: Nasal tip Hi, You can certainly have rhinoplasty to help in narrowing the tip of your nose, give it more definition, and reduce its bulbous appearance. It is best for you to consult with a rhinoplasty surgeon and discuss the details of what your nose could look like after the surgery.
