Nipples to low after breast augmentation 1 month ago. (Photos)

Question

I just got breasts implants 5 weeks ago. I am 5 ft 4.56 in; 130 lb and I had 420 cc Motiva Silk Surface+ Round High Profile implants, under muscle, crease incision. I'm overall satisfied with the results so far (wish I had gone just a little bigger,though). However, I find my nipples are too low. Is there a chance they may rise a bit as the implants settle?

Thank you for your question and photograph, and it appears that you will have a very nice result. After placement of implants, the appearance of the breasts will change dramatically over the next several months as the implants drop and the overlying tissue stretches to accommodate the extra volume. In your case the swelling from surgery is flattening your implants and holding them high on your chest.  This causes your nipples to be "low."  As this swelling resolves the volume within the implant will redistribute towards the lower portion of your breast achieving a more natural appearance while raising your nipple.   I know waiting is difficult, but judge your results at 4-6 months after surgery as most of your breast changes should have occurred by then. Thank you for your questions.It may take 6 months to a year before your implants have "dropped". Over time the implants will settle in, filling the breast out more toward the middle and the bottom. That should make the nipples appear in the middle of the breast. Don't worry this process takes time.

Hello,Your implants still appear to be sitting a bit high as I would expect them to be at 5 weeks. I recommend that you wait a full 6 months to allow implants to soften and drop before assessing your results.All the best

Thank you for your question and photographs.  My strong advice is to wait a full 4-6 months before considering the final result of your breast augmentation.  During this time of healing, implants do settle and your nipples will assume a better position.  Best of luck.

You will have the illusion that the nipples will come up higher as your breasts drop and fluff. At 5 weeks after breast augmentation you are about 30 percent settled, shaped, softened, dropped and fluff. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. 
Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then.

Thank you for your question and photos.  You appear to have a very nice result.  You are in the early recovery period, and over the next several months your breast will "settle down".  This means your skin and muscle will relax, and your implants will drop.  This will raise your nipples in relation to the apex of your breast.  Be patient.

Monacaro.  It is much too early to be concerned because the implants need to settle and the skin and muscle over the implants needs to relax.  This can take up to 6 months. Try to stay patient and followup with your plastic surgeon.  Good luck!

It's too early to know at this point. It takes a good 3 months for things to settle and the swelling to resolve enough to get a real sense of what your final results will look like. If you are really concerned then book a follow up with your surgeon so they can reassure you. Best of luck!
