Hello, if you visit the US trials page for Motiva implants, you can see a list of investigators.
The manufacturer of Motiva Implants hopes to have a US clinical trial enroll patients in 2017. The FDA takes every step to assure patient safety in these trials so as of the time I am writing this the trial is not yet approved or confirmed.Your question cut off, but asks about them being "safer in terms of their texturing..."The very reason to do the trial is to answer that sort of a question. Trials like this are for patients who feel highly motivated to participate in a trial for the benefit of all. Of course they should also have some belief that it will be a better choice for them. You can check the clinical trials/gov website and it will let you know if and when the trial is approved. If it is you will undoubtedly see discussion of it on this website.I included a link below to the Motiva website that is to provide information to patients outside of the US. Like any website, it is promotional. Remember that so far as US surgeons and patients are concerned, any beliefs of superiority or inferiority of these implants is a blank slate at this time.
Obtaining FDA approval is a very slow process. Go with the best surgeon for you, not the best marketing or salesmanship. Mentor, Allergan, and Sientra breast implants have been subjected to rigorous testing.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Currently, Motiva implants are just starting the process of FDA approval. They will need to go through clinical trials, which they hope to start this year, and then accrue follow up data. This will then be submitted to the FDA. That process will take at least 1-3 years. While their texturing does appear to be more of a micro- texturing than other devices, most of the aesthetic implants used in the US are smooth so there are plenty of excellent options with Mentor and Allergan/ Natrelle. I hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Though Motiva maintains a regulatory office in the US they would have to submit FDA testing to get approved for use. This can be an expensive proposition for the company but only they know whether or not to pursue it. In the US the largest implant companies are Allergan (Natrelle), Sientra, and Mentor. All provide safe and effective implant choices but I would share your concerns with your ASPS board certified plastic surgeon.
The implants currently available in the United States are the proven safest iimplants in the world. The rare funding of issues with textured implants is in part due to the stringent requirements for outcome reporting.
Thanks for the great question. As the others have already suggested, your implants will continue to change a little more over the next few months. This can be a long a very frustrating process. Many women have doubts and regrets after surgery. The vast majority of those patients are very happy ...
In your situation, since you have a long distance from your nipples to the bottom of you breast crease, the round implant would be best.
For two weeks post op, things look to be healing nicely. The dent is probably just a pull from a deep suture and should improve over time. If it does not, see your surgeon.
