Using Allegra and Flonase for allergies before breast aug, should I stop?

Having clear sinuses is important. Rebound is possible if you stop. They should not affect your surgery and may improve your recovery. Check with your surgeon.

I tell all my patients that they can continue to take allegra and flonase prior to surgery.  Contact your plastic surgeons office and see what his/her protocol is, every plastic surgeon can be different.  I would definitely double check with the performing physician.  

hello, great question. you should check with your surgeon their preference but generally those are medications you would stay on perioperatively without issue. you may also discuss with he/she to changing to Singulair for allergies and stop allegra as singulair has been shown to be beneficial in preventing capsular contracture and is also a treatment for it as well.

You can continue to take these medications prior to your procedure.  However, I would clarify with your physician as to his preferences.

your allergy meds should not cause any problems before your BA surgery. in fact, they may be helpful as they should keep you from being congested.avoid anything with aspirin in it for 10 days before surgerydavid berman md

In my practice I continue to let patients take these medications prior to surgery.  However, each plastic surgeon has their own guidelines on what is permissible to take/stop prior to surgery.  It is best to check with your plastic surgeon.
