My breasts are extremely pointy after my breast aumentation, will they change? I'm 9 days post. (photos)

I am only 9 days post op however I am really concerned that my breasts are not going to round out and I will not have any lower pole fullness at all. My breasts were "mildly" (as my PS stated) constructed beforehand and I feel as though I just have the same shape breasts but bigger. I have had 345cc over the muscle silicone implants. Will the fact that they are over the muscle mean they will not round out as much below the nipple?

9 days is very early after a breast augmentation.The implants will continue to stretch out the lower pole skin of your breasts over the next few MONTHS.Try to be patient, and you'll likely be very happy with your final results. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there, and congratulations on your implants! Based on your pictures, it looks like everything is beginning to heal nicely. However, at only nine days after your breast augmentation, your implants still haven't had a chance to "drop and fluff." By this, we mean that your breast tissue will become more accommodating to your new implants, which will begin to settle into a lower, more natural-looking position over the next weeks and months. Just try to be patient with your results.

Great question! As you can see from your before pictures you were already triangle shaped to begin with. This is called tuberous breasts. There are many different types of tuberous breasts. The implants will only make you a larger version of what you were to begin with. There are a few things you can do after you heal to help the shape. Possibly doing a circle mastopexy to tighten your areolas and also you could change your implants out to a different profile so they would not be as tall. Also give your body a good three months to heal. Good luck!

It is too early to be concerned about the shape of your breasts. Nothing can be done about it at this time anyway. The shape will soften and improve as the soft tissues stretch over time with the force of the implant.  Give it 6 months and assess your shape then. Best wishes,Dr. Ravi Somayazula

Nine days is pretty early to expect much more than bigger. It takes a while for the tissues to accommodate the increase in volume and feel like they belong. Usually one side is the favorite as might be expected any time you have two. Use ice for discomfort and be patient, gradual change can be expected over the next 2 to 6 months.

At nine days,the tissues are tight and will relax over the next several weeks. Constricted breasts take time to settle and stretch the skin and breast base. Overall your photos look good at this early time.Be patient and follow up with your PS.

Your pictures show a very normal appearance for 9 days post op.  All breast tissue will stretch some with time and your swelling will also go away.  Do not be discouraged by how they look now.  The breasts will begin to have a more normal shape one to three months post op.  Keep in contact with your surgeon during this time and he/she will allay your fears.
