I'd like an LBL with BBL & Lipo 360 as well as a breast lift with implants, and arm lipo. Surgeon told me I'd be under for roughly 9 hours. I'm a bit worried about being under that long and undergoing multiple procedures at once. Should these procedures be broken up? I don't want a flat butt after an LBL but I also don't want to put off the breast lift. I am 31 with no prior health concerns and non-smoker.

Answer: Evaluating the Safety and Logistics of Multiple Simultaneous Procedures Dear passionate3123456, Firstly, I applaud your desire to be fully informed and safe in your journey towards transformation. Safety should always be the top priority when considering multiple procedures. In general, a healthy, non-smoking 31-year-old without any significant health concerns can tolerate a longer anesthesia duration, especially with a skilled anesthesiologist and surgical team. However, combining multiple procedures, especially on both the upper and lower body, raises issues beyond just the duration of anesthesia. One primary consideration is the post-operative recovery positioning. After a Lower Body Lift (LBL) with a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), it is generally recommended to recover in a prone (on your stomach) position to protect the newly contoured buttocks. Conversely, after a breast lift with implants and arm liposuction, it's typically suggested to recover in a semi-upright or "beach chair" position to reduce swelling and discomfort. These contrasting recovery positions can make it difficult to adequately rest and heal following surgery, potentially compromising your results and recovery process. Additionally, when considering Lipo 360 in conjunction with a Lower Body Lift, there is an elevated risk of low blood supply to the body lift wounds, potentially increasing the risk of complications post-surgery. Lipo 360 requires significant manipulation of the tissue around the entire midsection, which can disturb the blood supply needed for optimal healing of the body lift incisions. In light of these considerations, it's generally advisable to stage these procedures. This would not only maximize the safety of your surgical journey but also help optimize the aesthetic outcome. It's crucial to have these detailed discussions with your surgeon, who knows your case best and can provide personalized advice. I hope this response provides some clarity, and I encourage you to continue seeking detailed information and advice as you plan your transformative journey. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Multiple procedures Hello passionate3123456. It is possible for us to combine procedures in the same surgery. But ideally keep the operating time under 6 hours. For full body lifts I combine the lower body, lift, liposuction, BBL and breast lift with implants, and usually take 6 hours of operating time. It is also important, to have a patient (like you) that is healthy and has no aggregated health issues. Let me know if you have any questions. Dr. Medina
