Circumferential body lift + Bra line back lift in one surgery?

I've lost about 175 lb and have excess skin around my body including abdomen, breast, arms, thighs, hips, buttocks, and mid/upper back. A LBL and addressing my mid/upper back rolls would be my first priorities. Can these two surgeries be done at the same without a huge risk of complicatons (e.g. wound healing issues)?

Hello and thank you for your question. Congratulations on your body transformation journey! In general, massive weight loss (100lbs or more) patients will need multiple operations to address all of their concerns. While it is possible to combine the two procedures you have references, in general, plastic surgeons seek to avoid doing two procedures with opposites directions of pull. I.e. part of the upper back lift is pulling up and part of the lower back lift is pulling down. Depending on how much is removed, the tension on the closure, etc, this could increase the risk for poor scarring and/or wound healing problems. Another consideration is the length of the operation. Different surgeons have different rules of thumb, but I personally would try to limit the operative time to between 6-7 hours max so that a patient is not under general anesthesia for longer than 8 hours, as this can further increase risks.

I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.

Hello, a lower body lift can be performed in combination with a breast lift, arm lift, and bra line torsoplasty. It would be too much to add legs.Patient convenience is not an issue for those who are otherwise healthy and have successfully maintained a healthy body weight.
