as a result I now have a bump above my lip. the doctor who injected said to ice it and press on it. but nothing is helping before that he said to use heat and massage. that made it worse!!!

I would first verify with your injector that Voluma was used instead of the thinner fillers with similar names - Vollure and Volbella. These are hyaluronic acid dermal fillers better suited to filling in vertical lip lines as demonstrated in your picture as Voluma is far too thick to do so. I would advocate dissolving the product currently placed into your lip and then redoing treatment with a more appropriate filler. Hope this helps.

If placed in superficial areas, the product is likely to cause a lump or nodule. Unfortunately, this is not likely to go away on its own and will need to be treated with hyaluronidase to dissolve it.
