3 years after last Juvederm Voluma and it's still visible.

Question

Juvederm voluma hasn't broken down much at all if any and appears to have migrated to my neck head and throat, is this possible? Also why would it not be broken down yet?

Hi @xersjx! I would see your injector for an in-person examination. If the dermal fillers are still present are bothersome, hyaluronidase can be used to reverse the filler. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately the purported duration of Voluma is 2 years and due to its incorporation into your tissues it would not migrate.  I would see your surgeon or injector for an in-person examination to review your current results and to offer guidance on treatment.

Thank you for your questions.It if difficult what is exactly going on without an in person evaluation. Voluma does not last more than a year, I would suggest being evaluated by your injector to find out what is causing the problem you are having.

Hi xersix and thanks for the question.  Voluma is a type of hyaluronic acid which is a substance that appears naturally in our body.  The lifespan of Voluma is typically 12 months although the company will mention 18 months in their literature.  The est thing is an in-person evaluation.

Thank you for your question. I recommend you seek repeat evaluation with your provider who performed the Voluma injection. If they confirm that there is still persistent filler in certain areas of your face and neck that you are unhappy with, they can they discuss the treatment options with you, which may include hyaluronidase to reverse the filler.
