Injector gave me a vascular occlusion 3 weeks go which caused blistering above my lip on a small patch, dissolved all the filler in my top lip now lips look funny, can I correct my lips or does this mean I cannot do filler again? She definitely put too much which I believe caused it but now the top lip is empty is it safe to seek correction with a small amount of filler? Because we dissolved all the filler in my nasolabial folds is gone too and my face looks out of proportion

Answer: Treatment after vascular occlusion Usually vascular occlusion is due to a small amount of filler lodging in a vessel. It is also possible that a large amount of filler "compressed" the vessel. I would give the area more healing time before re-treating.Using a cannula to inject the filler may help low your risk for future adverse events. I would have a conversation with your injector prior to receiving more filler. Best wishes.

Answer: Vascular occlusion during lip augmentation It is not the amount of the filler that causes vascular occlusion but a small amount of filler getting into a blood vessel. You really should let your tissues heal completely until you consider having another lip augmentation or nasolabial fold treatment procedure. I would allow you treating physician to decide when your face is ready for another treatment. Good luck from New York City
