Was my Juvederm injected too superficially? (Photo)

Too superficial? I appreciate your question very much. It is too soon after the injection to determine if this is swelling or if the filler was placed to superficially. The careful inspection of the area by your injector tomorrow will help to determine the cause of your issues. Be sure to follow up with your injector tomorrow and not miss the appointment!

Hi. Thank you for your question. Lumps and bumps are very common with filler injection, especially lip filler. They usually subside within 10-14 days. If not, you should see your injector again for assessment and possibly dissolve the lump. 

Thank you for your question lululemon95! As you just had your injections 3 days ago it is likely it is just swelling and will come down in time. You can massage the area a few times a day. Swelling from lip fillers typically lasts only a few days. It should be completely settled by 2 weeks, if at that point you are still unhappy I would go back to the provider who did the injections. If you are only 3 days post having your treatment then it is likely that the lump could be caused from swelling. At our clinic, we advise patients to wait minimum of 2 weeks prior to assessing their result. However, if you are concerned then go back to the clinic who performed your treatment. More time is needed to determine if the lump is swelling or superficial product.  Typically we encourage patients to wait two weeks in order to assess final results.  Gentle massage of the area may encourage it to soften.

thankyou for your question,unfortunately its too soon to tell. The lump jst may be swollen, too superficial as your stated or just too much in a bolus dose. It really needs time to settle ie 2 weeks then a decision can be made if it need to be dissolved.Hope this helps

Thank you for your question and photograph.  Your photograph indicates that you do, in fact, have some irregularities in your top lip.  Some hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm's Vobella are intended to be injected quite close to the surface of the lip.  Best to follow up with your injector for an evaluation.  Best of luck.

 I understand your are worried, personally I think it is too early to make a statement, I always wait at least 10 days before seeing patients back after injectable treatments ,the reason is that the tissue has to adapt for some days after a filler was injected, and most of the small lumps disappear spontaneously. There are some exceptions though, if a patient feels more pain or if there is redness,swelling that get worse or unexplained fever, than you should contact your doctor immediately. If the swelling persist after 10 days you could contact the doctor who treated you, lumps are in general easy to treat with a product that solves the filler
