Hi Treebird,It's more than fair to ask! There could be very sound reasons for not having many photos on a website- the surgeon could be young in practice, or simply doesn't have the office infrastructure to do this type of work for him/her. If you ask, you might get an explanation that puts your mind at ease! Trust your gut, look at reviews, and if possible- speak to someone who has use this surgeon. Best of luck to you!- Dr. Nik
Getting permission from patients to use their photos on a website is tricky so don't let this alone deter you from proceeding with this surgeon. It is worth asking to see if he/she has more photos because other patients may have given permission to use their photos for patient education in the office but not on a website, social media, etc. If there are no other photos, you may want to ask to speak with patients who have had a good experience with their breast reductions. Of course, make sure that your surgeon is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon!
Thanks for your question! It is 100% okay to ask to see more B&A photos. I encourage all patients to use photos as an effective tool for helping to choose a surgeon. Good luck!
Hello, And thank you for the question. It is normal for the patients to ask for more before/after photos evaluate the results after a particular procedure.Your surgeon may have them, but they may not have been uploaded yet to his/her website.I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss your options, specific techniques, concerns and expectations. I hope this helps.Good luck!Dr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
Hi. It is certainly reasonable to ask to see more photographs. Obviously some surgeons have more photographs than others but it is certainly reasonable, especially for a common procedure like a breast reduction, to want to see a few more photographs. Bottom line, though, is that you need to feel very comfortable with your surgeon as well as his or her ability to consistently give reliable good results for the specific procedure that you are interested in. I would recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who has very good experience with breast reductions. Good luck and take care, Dr. Howell
Hello @Treebird, thank you for your question. You should feel comfortable asking questions and voicing any concerns that you may have, as well as asking for more photos about the procedure you are planning on having. You can view testimonials where patients upload their results. To achieve good results, experience, surgical technique, and technology are the most important factors. Best wishes. The most important factor in good outcomes is experience. Training and skill are important, but experience has been shown to be the most important. Do ask for more photos, A LOT MORE. And so now you know what to do if you don't get many more.
Ask your candidate surgeon about their experience with breast reduction, the technique they use, and if they have additional photos to share at the office.
Dear Treebird, finding the right Dr. is extremely challenging especially with the number of online platforms and resources available. There a lot of great Dr's available. Make sure he/she is a board-certified plastic surgeon. Definitely check to make sure your choice specializes in the procedure you want and spend the time to read through patient testimonials. There is a number of different sites where you can check for reviews (Realself, yelp, google, etc.).You can always pick up the phone and call around also, find an office you feel comfortable with and set up a few consultations. Photos on a website can sometimes be problematic. Many surgeons will show you additional photos upon request. Hope this helps
