I have pretty bad neck banding and some neck laxity. Too scared to go through with any facelift procedure. Have had a few consults and every dr only performs mini lift in conjunction with the neck. And none mentioned the corset procedure which I think would be best.
Answer: Necklift only The short answer is yes, a platysmaplasty can be performed by itself, the disadvantage is that if you have heavy jowling, then you will have a line of demarcation under your jawline and some residual sagging skin, that you may not be happy with afterwards. This can be explained further on the consultation. If you are wiling to put up with that, then you can have just the corset platysmaplasty.

Answer: Platysmaplasty... It is possible to just tighten the muscle under the chin to improve the profile. The big question is how loose the skin is - if it's too loose, then it has to be lifted to give a nice result. A good exam by a facial plastic specialist should be able to answer that question for you.

Answer: Isolated Necklift Hi, thank you for your question. Yes! For the right patient, an isolated neck lift is definitely an option. The face and neck often age in different ways and at different rates, and should be evaluated and treated accordingly.

Answer: Platysmaplasty without facelift Yes, in theory this is possible, with incision under the chin only, but potentially it can create distortion on the jawline and the lateral neck if the skin is not lifted at the same time. FOr some patients, it might work. You'd need to be examined in person to tell for sure. We are close to your home in Staten Island and would be happy to consult with you about the possibilities.
