Solution for tear trough deformity and mid cheek volume loss? (Photo)

Hi @parisian34! The upper cheek is a major support for the under eyes. So when there is volume loss there, not only do the cheeks reflect this, but the under eye can as well with the development of tear trough and under eye hollows. Addressing the volume deficit in the cheeks with the use of a volumizing hyaluronic acid filler would be a reasonable place to begin. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Volume and contouring of the face can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Implants or fat are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert to go over your desired results and recommendations. Best, Dr. Emer

It appears that you have volume loss of the cheek and tear trough.  Fillers would be a great option to build volume in this area.  Fat grafting is also another option, but requires a surgical procedure.  I would recommend seeing a facial plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss your options.  

Restylane is the best product to be injected under the eye area. Voluma is perfect product for the cheek area. Placement of filler is very important as they both have different thickness per say. You do not want a thick injection in a thin area of skin such as the eye. You also do not want thin product injected in an area which need's more volume, such as the cheek. It is important to have the right injector go over options which are best for your face but also your budget. 

Also I am a big believe on using product your body naturally degrades over time.

To answer your question, yes you have  options to address this, and the good news is the solutions are non- or minimally invasive with little downtime. It does appear you are beginning to show the signs of volume loss that come naturally with aging, particularly in both tear troughs. A combination of tear trough filler and cheek filler would address this best. You will also benefit from radiofrequency to re-build collagen, tighten and lift the skin. When it comes to treating the signs of aging, it is preferable to address multiple layers of the face simultaneously, not just the superficial (ie skin tightening) and not just the deep layers (ie fillers).

Hi there. Thanks for your question and pictures! This malar crease is very treatable with fillers! Find an experienced injector and discuss where they'd like to put the filler. I usually use a cannula for this area.

Thank you for your question.  Midface volume depletion is a common problem, and it can make people think you look tired or sad all the time.  Restoring that will help refresh your appearance.  There are many types of injectables that can help fix this.  For most people I start off with an HA filler like restylane/juvederm since you get an immediate result to see the improvement, and they are reversible in the small chance you become unhappy with it.  More permanent solutions include Sculptra and fat grafting.
